how good are carbon filters ?

hey all , ive never had to use a carbon filter before , i used to live out in the countryside untill just recently and had no neighbours etc , now im in the town with neighbours and last night, i got home and instantly could smell my ganga as soon as i opend my front door which is VERY BAD news , infact im in two minds wether to pull them now , unless these carbon filters do actually work , so do they actualy work as well as people say or is it a bit of a con ? ive allways been sceptical , but like i said ive never used one .

No they work, I bought one for my last grow with a 24 inch carbon filter, I had 3 plants flowering and my place smelled bad, within 10 mins smell was gone!!!!!

could you say... walk past the grow room exhaust with out any smell ?

ill let you guys know how mine works tomorrow, i made a filter it about 7 inches long 4"diamater filled with carbon.
i will be getting my 4 inch high flow fan tomorrow and will hook it all up
as it stands now my plants just started a 12/12 cycle today so its not too smelly
but i will be able to tell if its working tomorrow !

they work perfectly
i use this fan filter combo with 25 plants in a 6' x 6' room and exhaust to outside and you cant smell any skunk

and yes the higher priced CAN brand filters are better but they also cost alot more

I have my setup in my home office, and if I didnt have my carbon filter, anyone could smell it, now with the filter, nobody can smell it, and customers sit right there
