How good is the mary jane in Jamaica?

So im going to travel to the roots of my family this Wednesday for my moms 50th birthday to Jamaica and I was wondering how much the MJ goes for? And do we pay in JMD or USD? Ive done a few google searches, and it seems that and ounce is around 50-80 bucks. To me thats still pretty steep? But then again im not sure what currency they are using. So if anyone has and recent experience or friends that have told u stories please forward them!

Jamacia had a reintroduction of new genetics they use for outdoor growing, but you can still get the traditional sativa dom stuff, which, by US standards today, isn't spectacular.

One way to buy it, is look for Americans leaving, they usually bought too much and will sell it for a song.

It's easy to buy on the resort grounds, and if you want the good stuff, many of the dealers will go get something better if you're not liking what you're seeing. So the key thing is NOT to jump on the first deal you see. The further you get off the beaten path, away from the resorts and beaches, the prices come down, and you'll more easily find the higher potency smoke. But a lot of the people you encounter can quickly get better stuff if you don't bite on their first offer. You just gotta take control of the situation, remember, they want your greenbacks worse than you want the weed.

Be careful getting away from the tourist areas. Jamaica is a high crime nation and if you get away from the highly patrolled areas (those areas the tourists hang out at) then you stand a better chance of becoming a statistic.

I was there this spring and the nice thing about buying bud there is they dont weigh it out they do it by portions. Me and my friend that came with me payed 45 bucks for around 3/4 of and ounce. The stuff we got wasn't spectacular as far as potentency, but it was cheap and got me high. THey had a ton of seeds in their weed.
