How High !

No such thing as too much light, so keep the cfl as long as heat isn't a factor.

I would highly recommend topping them about 8-12 inches, and holy crap, PLEASE defoliate the bottom third sucker branches! Do this by week two of flower. First three weeks of flower think of as a " super veg" time, as you will see the most stretching and explosive growth. If you do this by week 2-3, your plants will have plenty of time to adjust to the stress.

Do NOT mess with light cycle unless you want to throw a month of time out the window and possibly your genetics too.

Also, what genetics/varieties are you running? Maybe I missed reading them, but if they are from seed, you will need to be able to inspect every plant for Hermes throughout flower. Different genetics will also stretch more, flower longer, and feed more/less than others.
oh they need a good trim an a top like roorsmoker :weed:

The plants are really loving whatever light/nutes/ventilation you're using on it though. Nice and bushy. Would like to see some pics after you defoliate. Make clones from the sucker branches or tops you take at this point if you haven't already (and want to).

Thanks for the info guys, so basically, do I just cut off the top 8-12 inches at the highest points with a straight cut ? What I mean is, simply cut with a knife the stem straight through or does it have to be cut at a specific angle or way ?

Also, when you say defoliate, again, you mean cut the branches off up to 3rd of the way ?

Sorry, I'm trying to get used to this terminology !!!

That's all personal preference on the topping. Never kill more than 1/3 of the plant at a time or it will go into shock depending on how big it is. Make as few cuts as possible. Try one clean cut with (i use fiskers but sterilize them first) across the meristem (main stem) for the topping.

You are correct in the defoliating. I would wait a few days in between doing the topping and defoliating. Don't do it until they resume growing normally.

Topping you should do before flower if possible. I wait to trim the bottom 1/3 to 1/4 of the plant until around week two or three of flower at the latest.

Here it is" for indoors" grow 45-60 day from time of germination to 12/12/ switch - Also some go by height and put into flower when plant is anywhere from 12 to 16 inches high (24 inches being the most for indica's) (Some Sativa's only require a 3 week (21 day) veg time before a 12/12 switch. Comes down to what height your grow space can handle. Happy Cultivation
