How I killed all my Fungus flies by accident

background: I have a closet grow with 13 plants and a hps lamp in week 6 of flower. It was infested with fungus flys.

So I was out of town for 4 days with the ionic breeze running on high in my closed room.

The amount of ozone produced seemed to be enough to kill all fungus flies. Didnt harm the plants but killed those little buggers off.

Give it a shot if you have an ionizer because no spray or powder really killed em completely.

dont do that. You got lucky, lol. Corona discharge ozone generators are the worst for plants. They produce nitric oxide as a byproduct. That will kill plants. Plus, your ozone, if close enought to plants, will kill your plants too. If it is weeker doses you will get cal mag looking def and lower lower yeilds, and if it is stronger then you wil get crispy leaves. That is with the uv ozone which is safer. Most likely something else too killed your bugs. Tho it could be ozone. Mosqutio dunks from lowes will kill all the larvae like a charm and safelt and pyrethrin spray will kill all the adults topside. These two combined will do it everytime and I had them for 4 months and tried everything. This combo got rid of them all permently. Gl. Get rid of that ozone. :) At least they are gone. They eat the roots of your plants. Nasty little fuckers.

hey guys, I dont no what ionic purifier is but take heed to what I have said. Ozone is not to be used by dudes in closets who use ionic breezes> :) I am not insulting you, I am a simple tent/closet grower and ozone is not your freind unless you really get in touch with a ventilation system, seperate room, attic, or something like a big blue product. But charcoal filter from htg or somewhere like bghydro can greatly benefit you for under a 100 dollars and last a year or more. Mine still works with 8 months of hard use! A six inch gro brite model. So just get some portable air conditioning for your grow, as a whole house model for your grow will seruously waste some electricity. Good venting is your best freind. Then worry about air if yu really cant get it right with vents. Then smell is a filter issue but if yu are small and residential there is no need to overlook ona cans for good measure. They do work but wear out fast. That shite is surprsing. Reason it is sold still. Anyway, I realize that this is prob not yur prob but thot I could help. GL.
