How important is a Reverse Osmosis filtering system?

Just curious on how important it is to have a reverse osmosis filtering system to feed the girls as oppose to plain 'ol ph'd tap water?

Had complications on my last shot & I think a portion was due to hard water causing nutrient lockout and me not following proper feeding regimen....comments welcome.

My last grow btw https://www.rollitup.org/indoor-growing/153507-2-x-150w-hps-53-a.html
If you have hard water it is probably a good investent. I had issues with extremely hard water and had to switch to r/o. :bigjoint:

you can buy r/o units at lowe's, home depot, or any water purification store. they run a pretty penny though. i used to install them in phat houses. they basically reduce all the particles in your water to 0- pure water- as opposed to a tds of 125-225. you can get different filter's for them as well.
i usually went with 2 sediment filters, one with a smaller micron rating than the other, and 1 chlorine filter. you can get like a 5 or a 10 gal storage tank with it so you have a nice supply of pure water for your girls....

it would be worth it in the long run if you can afford it. personally i would be sketched showing up to fill 5 gal jugs every 2 days....

I rotated stores. One day I went out to fill up and came back with an RO machine. just couldn't do it anymore.

Ebay has them for $60.00. they make 50 gallons a day easy.

Can that 200+ppm water in and put out less then 9 ppm.

One note thou.. You will nedd to add some cal-mag or similar. Your tap water has trace minerals and r.o does not. I know... Filter out to put in, but hard water is just bad to work with.

I just got my 7 stage unit from purewaterclub.com I am very happy with the service and price... now I just need to get it hooked up so I can stop refilling jugs!

R/O water is where it is at. I grew for years with tap water, the nutrients wouldn't buffer and I'd always have to PH the mix. I have a few saltwater tanks and got sick of constantly going to the fish store for water and bought a RO/DI. I could kick myself for not doing it years ago. So far I've notice that the nutes buffer perfectly with very little drift. Cleaning my rez's is easier, I get no salt or weird sludge build-up.

A R/O filter is the single best investment you could make for your grow hands down. Especially when you can get one for around $100 bucks. You'll recoup that in no time, considering the amount of gas you will spend in making trips to get filtered water from stores.
