Here's my setup.

Temps stay under 80 degrees Fahrenheit. The white thing attached to the box is a fan sucking air out. there is a hole on the other side on the bottom of the box.
2x23w 5500k
3x23w 3000k
1x24w 2700k 139w total.
I plan to switch two bulbs witl 42w bulbs. I dont want to over do it with lights. More lights mean bigger plant lol
trying to get a mixed spectrum. Good right?
The tub is 18 gal, so it's pretty small. Gotta start LSTing early, and im going to veg for only 3 weeks after sprout, or 5 inches tall. I need this plant to stay small so yeild will jsut have to suffer.

how early is too early to LST? i was thinking after an inch or two tall. Does my setup look alright? For a single persons personal use at least. and does it look manageable? remember i don't plan to transplant or move it when i flower. The box is it's life...

and another Q.
Could i possibly grow cantaloupe in this?
Or carrots? mmm. Homegrown Veggies are always much more juicy and delicious.

ok you need to change out bulbs and get 6500k's for veg 2700's for flower

you can keep them short by starting in a smaller container, like a shotglass untill their almost rootbound.
then transplant to something more permanent.

as much light as humanly possible will also keep them small

you dont have to sacrifice yeild to keep em short, you just have to be willing to stunt growth a little bit.
now keep in mind, youve got vertical growth, and lateral growth (branching). the secret is stunting vertical growth without sacrificing lateral growth.

im gonna covor alot of things here so bare with me.

pruning: once your first set of true fan leaves apeare (5+leaves) cut off all but the middle 3 leaves from each set, this lets more light hit the stalk early on and triggers faster branch formation

deffinatly top: id suggest topping after the 2-3 node, giving you 4-6 branch's, thats about all you wanna work with in that tub.
once you top it let the branches come out to about 3 inches long and begin training them.
drill small holes all around the top of your pot about 1 inch apart, use small guage wire to tie the branches to the holes, train them to go straight out to the sides.
they will get sub nodes all along the branches, once the new growth is about 2-3 inches from the wall of the tub top it again.
let the sub nodes grow to whatever height you deem apropriet, switch to flower.
you should get a solid field of bud.

line your tub with something reflective and youll get better light penatration and denser plant growth.

Take an adittional rubbermaid and double the height for flowering. U know, stack one upsidedown on top.

that is a good place to get mylar from
I can tell you right now that you are going to need some proper ventilation for this grow to be successful
That small white fan just isn't going to cut it

Maybe, maybe no. We'll see. The fan is actually quite powerful, and somewhat loud as well. It's an electric engine used for inflatable snowman lol. I can buy another if i need two!

Temps stay low. Never above 83 degrees. on for more then 24 hours. averaged at 79*
