How long a shelf life do dried buds last?

I've been looking all around and can't find much on how long a shelf life fully dried and cured buds can last for. I've found a spot to grow a few plants, but it's not definate place yet. If I can grow there it's an awesome spot for it. But I don't smoke alot, only once or twice a week, so if I grow 2 to 4 plants, I want to make sure the buds will last me untill the next grow. I've read that Blueberry has a long shelf life and this is a strain that i'm interested in (as well as strawberry cough and a kush).
How long will dried and cured bud last in a sealed jar? Can it be frozen or anything in a bag? Is there anyway of making the bud last longer? etc...

Cheers for any help!

if its sealed air tight i hear it can last couple months. stay away from zip lock bags u will lose weight and potency by the day! so either air tight jars or vaccum sealed turkey bags are the way to go

You are correct about the Blueberry and the high lasts longer too another bonus, IMHO Blueberry is the best strain ever developed everyone should grow it at least once. I have a cross of Blueberry (X Haze) that is nearly a year old just stored in a sealed jar at room temperature that gets me just as high as when it was fresh. The vacuum jars frozen would be best for long term storage.

The Marijauan Growers Guide by mel Frank talks about a grower that vaccume sealed in bags, and stuffed in steel ammunition cases and burried in the ground. It says it was his 10 year stash, and it tasted and smelled just like it did the day he burried it!
Oxygen, light, and temps are what puts a toll on ur buds.

I knew a guy who grew some mikado from federation seeds, he cured it for 7 months and when he busted open the jar the entire room would fill up with the stench of skunks and blackberry jam!

The Grower's Bible
Chapter 5 - Harvest
Page 101

"Do not place it in the freezer. Freezing draws moisture to the surface of the buds which can harm resin glands on the surface."

The page goes on to say that refrigeration is good as it slows down decomposition, but you have to be careful of the humidity.

Well it looks like Blueberry is a definate then! Any other long lasting strains? Cheers for all of the help so far. I found an old well in a mates house, which is where it will be grown when its all cleaned up and everything (hopefully). The wells actually about 10ft x 8ft x 12ft deep but weeds only allowed in one side, he wants the other side for storage.

Blueberry isn't the easiest strain to grow mainly because it's roots are very sensitive to over fertilizing as are any strains crossed to it which I would recommend as more long lasting strains too.
Here's a good breeder of Blueberry and many fine crosses to it. His seeds are very popular due to his low price & great quality. I have done business with the distributor a couple of times and highly recommend them (yes they ship to the US)

I see a couple of problems with your future grow location # 1 high humidity #2 cold root zone.
