Always seemed like a rotten tomato smell to me. It all depends how quickly you dry it. Generally, a week of drying and they lose the smell. (I have a wooden tea box that I dry small amounts in and they lose their smell within 3 days).

how long are you willing to wait, the longer u wait the better. u could keep it in the jars for a week to even a month.

aggree the glass jars with the rubber sealed lids are awesome just pop it in there when it is almost dry then every day just open the jar for 5 minutes once or twice a dayand turn the bud inside the jar so the bottom stuff is at the top and repeat over and over and over lol

you're gonna want a minumun of a month in jars but if you wait like 3-4 months you'll have some amazingly potent and stinky weed

Right, I was in the same position as you. Directly off the plant my harvest smelled like the sweetest dank around! Some strains smell dank all the time even during the drying process, and probably can be smoked as is. My recent harvest lost its smell after it dried. I threw them into glass jars and within 2 days the buds started to smell like sour dank. Unfortunately, if I burped to long it would significantly lose its smell. It's been 4 days now and the smell is becoming more and more pungent, hopefully the smell sticks with time. At this pace it may take month before it fully cures.

Just my two cents.
