A picture always helps.
A half litre is enough to bring on seedlings past that fragile stage.

Idk what the volume is but they're less than a half litre.
I wait unti I can see the roots hitting the sides and bottoms of my little starter pots. If you have enough roots to hold the soil together, transplanting should be easy. Can anyone tell me how long I should wait after seedlings have sprouted to transfer them into their next pot. At the moment they are in small pots of about half a litre in size and sprouted a week ago.. Thanks

I'm not sure many will agree, but I've also found its best to transplant when things dry out, not right after watering. Dry soil seems to crumble less and holds together better for transplant. I also like to water right after transplanting, which is another reason I wait till the soil is slightly dry. You dont want to double water your little starter plug if that makes any sense.OK thanks
