How long cuttings can stay in water

Hey I wanted to know how long cuttings can stay in water for. I basically have access to cutting now for a short period of time and won't have access again for a very long time but I am at least a month away from starting my op. So won't really have any use for them until then.

+Rep for any help!

days maybe but I doubt a month.can you plant them &stick them in a box or something w/ a few CFL? limited light will keep them alive but slow growth until you are ready.

Wow that was fast lool erm am only going to have access to like 20 cutting but for my op I need 42 so I was just thinking about a DIY aerocloner and cloning them until I have 42 clones. Would the clones be fine like this or would I run in to some problems? The grow is going to be at a completely different place so I would have to move it

I tried it ...they stayed for quite a bit, but my fridge runs COLD so it wasn't any longer than about 5 days before you could see them go downhill
I was going to add BUT NOT TO COLD a fridge, LOL.
Anyways if you HAD TO, then turn your temperature up to 50 F at least and leave a light on them too some how,

Ok just take a big glass with a lite nute solution roughen around the 45 degree cut, and through in a little tiny airstone, or just change the water every 2-3 days, before you know it you will have roots, oh and I never use root hormone, it says right on the bottles not to use on consumable plants,
Do this and you can keep them under CFLs or in your window for ages,

I have had cuttings sit in a cup of water for about 3 weeks before they even showed roots. Just have to make sure to change the water regularly and top it up when the clone has drank too much. You shouldn't have trouble keeping a cutting alive in just water for a month. If it does start to develop roots make sure that some of the root mass is kept above the water so that it doesn't start to show symptoms of drowning. An aerocloner and 1 CFL light can support plant life for months and months with little to no nutrients added. The less light the slower they will grow and therefore the less space they will require making them easy to transport when the time comes.

Okay thank you guys! HempforVictory why the need for a nutrient solution? Would that not encourage roots?
and I've +Repped you all

put them in rockwool cubens in a humidi-dome it will take 2 weeks for really good roots anyways and you could leave them in there for another 2 weeks just keep the rockwool moist.make the cuttings on the smaller side so they have room to grow in the dome.like this.

I am going to be building a DIY aero cloner for the cutting so no need for rockwool but thank you for your input +Rep!

Dont wait, get going right now, also do not put all your eggs in one basket with the diy aero cloner, most new cloners have problems with cloning so i say if you have not allready perfected your clone technique then start now.

Get the aero unit going & use other methods at the same time, get a humidome & sponge plugs & fill it up with cuttings,i would also start some water clones & put them in a window ,making sure to change water every 3 days.

You should also be getting the clones ready early because of mother plants,it takes 2-3 months to get a clone to the point its a mother plant, starting the mother clone process should allways be done as much in advance as possible for one reason, its much easier to keep clones & mothers healthy while your getting other shit in line than it is to rush at the last minute.

Even very experienced growers like myself have been taken out of cycle by waiting too long to clone.

I have no technique lool I've not done a grow yet but have seen 1 of my friends do one but he had to cut it early. I have been doing research for the past 9 months though mainly just lurking and post when I can't find anything on google. I am just going to be using clones in this cycle then my next cycle am going to buy seeds so I don't really need a mother plant with this cycle. The main problem is though I am not sure exactly how long it is going to be for me to be ready could be 1 month could be 2 months so I don't want to rush in to it just yet but am slowly buying up the equipment I need.

+Repped!
