Usually a month is needed for the plant to "realize " and adjust to its environment. Important note here: when having a mother plant, it must be taken care near perfect in order to keep genetics intact for future generations. Also too old mother plant's clones are always degenerating in some matter when it comes multiple generations. I would not exceed four months on a mother in any case but hey, I'm no breeder.

No specific time you wait until the hairs pistils go back inside the flower(flower gets big soo it looks like that) and pistils start going brown like dying.you can allsoo use a microscope and wait for the trichomes to be milky.

As for how long to veg you can not veg at all or veg for years.veg impacts yeald by having more of a plant but if you have 60w extra veg will not help you you will just have tiny buds.
Usually people with strong lamps veg for longer to fill a space.but you can do short veg and more plants and achive the same results

Soo you would make a mother plant that has no time to make clones? Or what just 1 generation and first day you kill it

Grow it well ;)

Expenses...

Two or even three generations is ok I think. The three months isn't tied in any way. There will be issues with epigenetics relating to seasoning after longer periods and so forth. Plus a plethora of other things to mind.

A healthy 6 week mom can give a lot. A healthy 10 week breeder with CO2, about a hundred.

Succesfull cloning is much of grow condition and plant stress avoiding.

I flipped some after 14 days from soaking. (for some very sativa ones). Not quite 12/12 from seed... but close.
 Needed to keep them under 1.5m without any training. It took a few days longer to show sex but they seem to finish the same time as longer veg.

If all the light you have is a 2 tube t5 I wouldn't expect much and it could help explain why that 6 month old plant is that small. It looks like that 6 month old also has signs of revegging.

I top twice in veg, transplant to the final 3 gallon fabric pot, then flip when the plant height is 18" (max 20") above the top of the plant soil. I only have about 70" above to the light, so if they stretch 3x then the plant will be 54" tall and I still have 16" left. They don't usually stretch that much, more likely between 44" to 54" which leaves plenty of room for the light. I like to wait until 3 weeks in flower before lollipoping any lower branches, but not too many, just the lowest, obvious larf. It usually takes about 6 weeks of veg time starting from seed.

I flip after 21 but almost all of them want to veg for 30 days then start to flower.

When growing photo period plants outdoors I can get by with 10 weeks in veg an then 10 weeks in flower. For me to do this where I live has me starting seeds in May. You can get longer veg time outdoors but if you start your seeds earlier than mid April your plants might flower first an then reveg. Supplemental lighting will prevent this.

I grow in coco & fabric pots. I used to veg for 28-35 days then flip. Now, I'm finding much better results vegging for 70+ days. The harvest is more than double, and flipped plants tend to initiate flower sooner when they've vegged longer; a 28-day plant flipped might take 15 days to show flower, a 70+ day plant flipped can show flower in about 8-9 days.

I veg 4 weeks minimum with purer indicas il go longer as a general rule but it depends what it is tho how big it stretches etc some things are best with less some with more as already stated by others u can skip veg and go 12/12 sog with more smaller plants if you like rather than do a longer veg to fill space i got a bit of height in my space so i can go for a taller finish if required space often dictates your veg limits as well i guess its just personal preference also

I have made an F2 from a cross of Cherry Malawi X The Flav and was testing them in 16 oz paper cups checking for variation and germination. They grew out in 84 days 12/12 from seed and had a few phenotypes. One top cola was too big and I had to cut 1/2 oz off the top from mold. My cost for the 1100 seeds is $.01 each so I am doing a lot of experimenting to see the best way to grow in my setup. one F2 did not like topping and split bad and I haven't seen the purple pheno that I bread with yet and the taste reminds me of the smell of a burn barrel that had poopy diapers in it on the 4 I have finished so far. I should name the strain Pamperburn. And make some Huggyhash. o_O

For flower you need more light or you are going to have really tiny buds. I wait until the buds are fully swollen out, orange pistils (hairs) and the plant will slow down drinking in late flower usually 8-9 week mark. Most of my genetics I grow from clone and they take on average 65-70 days of 12/12 before harvest.. Some genetics I have grown took 80 days.

AutoFlower isn't faster than photoperiod clones. It's never faster growing from seed than from cutting IME. Also growing weed indoors is already extremely inefficient in itself and a energy hog. Growing Photoperiod allows to reduce lights to only being on 11-12 hours a day in flower. Autoflower need 18/6 start to finish.

You Can can grow autos with 10h.perk from autos is that you can grow them on 24h of light giving you more and how can it be inefficent when in shop you pay 10+$ and cost of growing is 0.10$...

As for more light true but if you cant get more light make a smaller place and smaller plant.a small fense bud is better than 300 spots on a plant
