How long does thc take before it turns psychoactive after cut/dry/cure?

Well, I know that it takes at least a couple of weeks of drying at normal rates for it to begin to break loose, but thats not really long enough. 2 months should bring out the true quality, but theres some that insist even longer is better yet. I watched a video with Subcool recently and he was sure to add that he had cured the sample he was laying on Cervantes for 6 months. I remember I once bought a QP of some plenty dry weed. Some pretty decent smoke. A month later the shit was the bomb. The pretty decent had turned into a 2 toker made you laugh your ass off smoke. Ed Rosenthal used to write that it "takes time for the THC to break totally free from the water in the plant" or something very like that. So, it's always been my opinion that a good long cure of at least 2 months is required to bring out the full potential of herb. Nobody has disproved it to me yet.

I think Ben is right,it takes a good 6-8 week of curing for the bud to reach its true prime, though some strains will take longer.Normal cure time is about 2months proper, this allows for thc to become more readily available in the bud

Yeah, but it is psychoactive before it is cut even. The curing process is probably 80% about taste and smoothness, and 20% about potency. Of course 20% is always welcome and I cure mine for at least 30 days. My own reserves have been curing for a year.

all of the "pros" in all of the grow videos/books/etc that i've ever read say 6 months for a PROPER cure...people just say 2 as who the fuck wants to hold on to bud for 6 months...and after 2 its pretty damn good already :D

I heard Subcool say in person that when he says his buds been curing for 6 months it just means it's been in the jar that long, he followed with but it would have been fine to smoke after 2 months.

Not to HiJack but I let my jars breath twice a day for 2 weeks, than once a day... after 2 months it's pretty much there so only open every few days to a week until I start to use it.
