How long is TOO LONG, for vegging

i was just wondering, how long is too long...

are there consequences to vegging for MONTHS... i mean MOOOONNNTHHSSSS... ha...starting to think one of my plants is starting to look like me... its been living with me forever... bastard need to go get a job or something...ha...

ohhhhhhh.... and can a plant go for months without showing pre sex... i understand the flowering stage is when you learn the sex... but i figured i would notice its pre-sex by now...

Yeah you can let it grow until it stops. Most plants have a genetic potential of how tall they would grow and most people have limits due to how high their ceiling is. I personally would never do this because its a waste of electricity IMO. If you want a big ass plant and make it worth while, veg that sucker until about mid may and throw her outside in the ground. Most plants show sex 4-6 weeks from seed. If you got a clone... its obviously a female.

its a bagseed... i only use bagseeds at the moment...

my roomate doesn't use electricity... the bastard sits in the sun all day..

the only ones thats using electricity are the ones that moved in recently... ha

its not about that... you wouldn't want to clone a male...there's no point..

you would clone a female, so you can grow bud... males don't grow bud

Exactly. No one sells male clones unless you asked for one or their just screwed up people. A lot of people clone males just for breeding projects. Thats pretty much the only use of cloning a male.

Yeah but what I'm saying, is that you can pull out so much more weight with the amount of electricity your using if you split it up to more grows.

So lets say you start off with a 2x4 spot in your closet. I'm assuming your doing something somewhat small with roomates n what not. So lets say you put one plant in there cause you want to veg it for so long. Since your starting from seed, it will take more than 3-4 months to even start to fill up all your space to where it would be worth while.

Instead, you could throw 4-8 and train them to fill the space in 1 1/2 - 2 months. Plus you'll have more main colas this way and most likely get more bud.

But if you put both these cycles next to each other and compare them over the year, the one with more plants harvesting more often will yield much more. And! if you have enough space you can do two levels. Veg on top and flowering below. That way you always have plants in flower and you can even further increase your yield.

thats what my setup is aiming for right now...

and...ha.. when i said room mates... i was talking about my plants... ha...

i have one sitting in the sun all day.. that one doesn't use electricity and thats the one i had sitting around forever....

i just germinated like 15 seeds... to start on my SOG... sorry i didn't clarify... i'm that way when i smoke... and trust me, i manipulated the lighting situation so 5 plants can benefit off of 5 bulbs and still have like 4-6 seedlings feeding off of 2 out of the 5...

but what i wanted to know was... why is this fucker, who has been sitting on its ass all these months, don't even want to show me its pre-sex... i have other plants thats letting me know... what is this one's problem.... oh yeah.. i FIM it and have it sitting on the windowsill, don't want it to flower.. i did it as an experiment and i want to use it for clones if it is a female.. thats why i need to know the presex...by doing FIM and having it in the sun.. the nodes have nice spacing and nice size branches for cloning... and i would be able to get A LOT of clippings off of it... perfect for SOG

If u really want to know what the sex is just get a clone off it and stick it in 12/12 untill u see signs of sex
