How long is weed good for?

It starts to loose potency, as the bud is exposed to any sort of light, especially sunlight. It also is a result from lack of care when stored in baggies with air, you need to keep your bud stored in an airtight container, or at least a bag that has nearly all air sucked out of it to retain the best qualities of potency.

But on the side note, you can keep marijuana potent for several month's by just keeping it in an airtight container with a normal temperature and darkness for a long time.. I don't know how many month's it could stay potent before degrading THC. Another alternative is to store your bud's in a freezer, as long as its sealed properly in a Mason jar, or something with almost no air circulation, your bud's can stay potent for long periods of time, but I don't really suggest it, because I would've smoked it by now.

Once my ex roommate found bud that she had lost for over 2 years. It was stress to begin with, and over the time it had lost its color and had hardly any smell left either. We tried smoking it and barely felt high at all, mostly just light headed. I think it's safe to say stress looses it's potency over time. I'm not sure about chronic though, it probably does but takes longer

Sorry, that's So Cal slang for regular bud, not chronic. I didn't know that until last year when I moved here

Years back, Jaques Cousteau discovered an ancient ship sunk in the Mediterranean. They found some sealed jars with Hashish in them. His son Philippe reported that it was still potent. Being a good academic and scholar, he HAD to try it for scientific reasons :o True story.

Apparently if it's properly sealed you won't have any problems. However, the bag that my ex roommate had lost was a sandwich bag, not sealed at all. That must have been our problem

sweet, so i shouldnt worry about growing too many plants and having that much extra risk with the bud going to waste

I smoked some stuff early in the summer that I found from the mid 90's. It was very brown and had been in a small nugget leftover in an old dime bag at the bottom of my keepsake box where I stashed all my old concert tickets.

It was very dry... but it still got me high :bigjoint:

Yeah I've wondered about that before too. I guess if I ever grow surplus bud I'll just keep it sealed and stashed :-D

It'll last until the apoloclypse if you store it right... And I imagine bud during that time will be highly valuable... lol You can never have too much weed btw.

I can't varify this myself - but I got it from my mentor (who I place absolute trust in!). The best way to store marijuana is the same as the best way to store tobacco - cigars to be exact! If dried and cured properly, marijuana stored in a good humidor will last almost indeffinitely - and do nothing but improve with time! I did some research and found that there are still "Pre-Castro" Cuban cigars that have been in humidors for over 50 years that smoke better than the day they were rolled back in the early '50's.
