How long should i veg for?

well my grwo set up got moved into the closet now cause mom told me too.


now.


i can fit about 4 nice 5 gal pots in the closet and the hight wise is about 9 feet


now im going to be using an MH bulb for veg and then the hps bulb for flowering. (1000 watt)


so im guessing i should put a fan in the closet cause it will get pretty hott in their im assuming (hopefully its not a dangerous hazard to have that light in thier.. but theirs nothing in the closet thats flamable.


now heres the question.


if i want my babies nice and tall and bushy, how long should i veg them for?

like 4-5 weeks?

and should i keep the veg for 24/7 or 18/6


oh and if anyone has any advice on how i can like make the buzzing noise on the ballast go away... im up for some suggestions.

Tall or bushy depends on strain, indica (short) or sativa (tall)... When you veg, keep in mind your plants can double to triple in size, so its not the time you veg , its at what hieght you start flowering. I have some bagseed that i vegged till it was 6-7 inches, now 3 weeks, 2 days into flower i have plants ranging from 1ft 7in to almost 3ft. So i think i have an sativas. With bag seed you never know, when buying you'll have a choice. 24/0 promotes vigourous growth and supposidly the 18/6 promotes more female, gives them time to rest less stress, but that is up for debate, some think sex is determined in shell, and you cant change a boy to girl only both into hermies. I choose 24/0 so i can get them growing and into flower. With the ballast, i am not sure, have you tried putting it on a soft/rubber surface... I dont know...lol.. And you definately need a fan, not just for heat, for a strong stem, control mold, allow some coolness between the light and the plant (no burning). An oscalting fan is best. Temp should be between 68-85. High temps arent good, but just dont exceed 91 and you are ok... 80-87 is good if you live in a hot climate like me... Humitity from 45 to 65, and watch your ph.

are you sure that indica is the tallest plant.because i'm not

veg seedlings for at least 8 weeks for mature THC production. after that, go by height.

clones: veg according to height you desire.

24 hours will brow nice but 18/6 will promote larger root sytems which can provide more water and nutrients. check out other people's grow journals with similar sets ups and plants as you and you decide.

the indica is shorter and bushier and bud is dense, giving a sleepy body high, while the indica is taller an bud is fluffier, but stonger, giving a head high and being motivated
