How long to sprout?

I have 4 germinated seeds in the soil for 5 days now and they're not sprouting. They're all feminized from World Wide Seeds. I've put them in not deeper than 1/4 inch into Scott's Potting soil. Should I be concerned? I doubt the soil is the issue as I had 2 unknown seeds I've got from someone sprouted from the same soil within the 3-4 day time. Thanks for the input.

I find that is the best way to germinate my seeds. I'd be getting a little concerned at this point, but give it another week, if nothing happens after that I would contact your supplier.

Be sure to keep the soil moist, not wet nor dry, but damp. If they started to sprout and the soil was dry, they have nothing to feed off of and will dry out and die. On the other hand, if it's too wet they will basically drown.

It turns out that two out of four came up this morning, I started poking around and it turns out that my beloved blueberry gum is dead, I probably put it in a little too deep, ffs!! AK48 is still there, I'm not sure how healthy but I removed a lot of soil from the top of it, left some soil on top, thinking I might be able to help it out a bit? I sprayed some water over it and fingers crossed, maybe it'll sprout. I guess when you're a total noob, you make stupid mistakes like this.

I've decided to order more seeds, I have to make myself feel better, lol. I have one last question in this thread. In order not to make another noob mistake, when I germinate the seed, how do I insert it into the soil? With the knot side up or down? I'm reading conflicting information all over the internet about this.

I learned this is 1st grade. Take a zip lock bag slide a paper towel inside pour little bit of water inside, make sure the paper towel is standing up. The paper towel will suck up the water and keep the seeds moist. Just place the seed on top of the paper towel and hang it in a dark warm room. I have NEVER had a seed that didnt pop. I never put any seeds in that I didnt think was going to grow either. But try this out you will be happy. If the towel wants to slide down staple the paper towel and the zip lock together. This way the zip lock will keep moisture inside and you dont have to worry about them drying out. And the seeds arnt soaking in water. Keep a little bit of water at he bottom of the bag so the paper towel stays wet. Use a brown paper towel the white ones have bleach in it.

From what I have read they will eventually correct themselves no matter how you put in the soil, but for the sake of effiency just put in taproot towards bottom.
