How long until brand new living soil coots mix becomes alive?

Thanks for the answer steve.
Found out plants are revegging, so thats why they are with a lighter green, guess they are using N for the new foliage.

I cant get kelp meal in my country.
I have a pretty complete fish meal with 11-9-5 NPK and also have blood meal with a 13-0-0 NPK. I believe blood meal is pretty fast acting, so will top dress with a tablespoon or so.

I can get a 10-3-3 commercial fertilizer if needed.
I do have a liquid fertilizer made of mixes of kelps, with a 16-6-6 NPK.

Top dressings were a mix of Gypsum, insect frass 3-12-3 NPK and commercial fertilizer with 5-7-15 NPK.
I was using those since plant was flowering, but will go with another NPK ratio from now with the revegging thing going on.

The blood meal will be fine! I've taken a liking to these low NPK amendments.. kelp, crab, alfafa, neem meals, gypsum, basalt, oyster shell flour. 25 gallon fabric pots of slow release fertilizers with compost to feed while those amendments break down. Seems to have worked a whole lot better then when I was running 7 gallon pots and trying to feed as deficiencies occur. At the time I was using blood, guanos and fish hydrolysate. Too much work especially with a bigger garden. Next time I would use a way bigger pot! :)

I used the second recipe, the "light version". Way cost effective when making huge batches. And the growth on the plants so far have been immaculate :D! Hope this stride continues into flower.

Extreme Gardening Mykos and Azos. And Earth Juice Biorighteous for an extra powdered microbe product. I'm not adding any trichoderma because I've heard it can work against the Mykos.

I hope that statement doesn't cause any riots, lol.
Wish people would riot over fungus. I think most fungis compete with each other which should normal for soil. From my experience trichoderma is the natural enemy for growing mushrooms, it's competitive. Idk which trich I'm always fighting with but trichoderma harzianum is in clonex, so I'd be surprised if it really hindered the mycorrhizal network.

Mostly replying about this because I just read this paper on vs rock phosphate trichoderma /compost(manure particularly). https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6307717/

You must be talking about the Root Maximizer. The Clonex gel doesn't have trichoderma.

Yes that's what I have lol thanks for clarifying, just assumed it was the stuff everyone mentions, everyone just says Clonex. Same problem as Kleenex lol My hydro shop guy just happened to give me the root maximizer stuff(expired) with a purchase. I feel duped.

Top dressed a little handfuls of blood meal and seems to have worked pretty fast. Of course leaves didnt get green back, but it hasnt advanced anymore.
I would really like to try things like neem, karanja and kelp, but i cant get them here. Took me more than a few hours of analyzing whats available in my local market, but i think im doing think right now, although those amendments like karanja and neem have lots of "extras" that are really cool.

Nutrient blends like DTE Bio Live (good stuff btw) may have mycorrhizae, but it isn't pure and won't be enough to attach itself to the roots. Dusting mycorrhizae on a transplant is practically mandatory IMO. Sure, you can technically go without it. But having the mykos bond to your roots immediately will ensure the survival of your plant. Think of the symbiosis going on, the mykos will do everything in their power to ensure the survival of the plant as they are dependent on the plant's survival. They all take care of each other because they need each other to thrive.

Great White is a good product, but its way overpriced. Same sized jar of Endo Mycorrhizae goes for $8-$12 on Amazon.

Blumats are designed for perfect watering, if you're using Blumats you shouldn't have to worry about watering in the slightest. I don't trust water probes, unreliable IMO. Lift test and knuckle has always worked for me.

The leaves praying this is actually a bit of a myth, by the way. When they're praying it isn't praying for more light, they're praying for more Magnesium. This is because Mg is a crucial component in photosynthesis, and Mg is typically the first to show signs of deficiency and/or be locked out.

What's the wattage of your SE bulb? 18 inches is pretty close. Even with the hand test under the light, just because there isn't heat stress doesn't mean there won't be light stress. Be cautious.

I'm not running anything fancy at the moment. I'm mostly an outdoor grower, so I grow strains that can handle the extreme cold and heat of my climate. I've got some Green Crack plants outdoors now, experimenting to see how well they do in the winter. I've got 2 Strawberry Cough plants in a 4x8 Scrog under a 1000w DE MH bulb, and 3 Monkey OG and 1 Critical Blue next to the screen.

Been wanting to run Bodhi gear for the longest time, but I've never been fond of sexing plants. Potential waste of time if I get males. Someday when I'm in my own place and have the ability to get a separate veg room going.

I hate trimming now lol. Was fun when I started, but after doing it for 10+ years it got old fast. My last year's summer outdoor was ~13lbs between 5 plants, I didn't even trim 3lbs of it. Just turned it all into bubble hash. I'll be doing nothing but trimming top buds, and turning the rest into bubble from now on.

Half oz of bubble lasts me longer than a QP of flower. And the taste is too good, I'm spoiled now lol. Which works just fine, because running hash means little to no trimming. Just trim the fan leaves off before harvest, cut the buds and throw into my work bag, make hash. Done. No trimming, no worrying about a perfect dry/cure for flowers, a tenth of the jars compared to flower, and incredible flavor from running fresh.

It is entirely possible to have a successful grow with nothing but EWC top dress. It sounds like you are well on your way to making EWC that are capable of achieving this. Worms love OSF and neem! Just make sure your Crab Meal and Basalt are as finely ground as possible, less time to decompose and the sooner the worms can munch on it. Worm castings that have been made from high quality compost, kelp/crab/neem meals, and OSF will be of the highest quality. Add a little langbeinite to the bin too (little goes a LONG way) so your EWC has some K, Mg, and Sulfur in it too. This way, your EWC will have absolutely everything it needs and will be of the highest quality.

You having access to EWC like those will put you leaps and bounds ahead of most of us, myself included. At that point, you'd pretty much only need something like TM7 for micro-nutrients (Cu, Zn, Mn, etc).

Sounds like you're well on your way. Only thing you need now is to stick with it and get personal experience with the living soil method and the plants themselves.
How do you like to smoke your hash? Are you still giving the bud drying time before you wash?

Screens and a bubbler/bong for me, personally. If I don't have screens, I just set it on top of ash from a bowl I smoked prior.

I only dry buds when I want to jar and smoke them. Processing the buds for hash immediately provides a wealth of benefits. You get the best flavor possible, no need to fuss with drying/curing the buds (you dry/cure the hash), and best of all no need for trimming. Just remove fan leaves, toss the whole buds (with sugarleaf) into the wash, make hash, dry/cure the hash, done. Best flavor/smoke possible, and zero bullshit. Especially trimming.

Trimming a single tent grow by yourself is no big deal, can be knocked out in a day or two sitting in front of a few Simpsons episodes or some shit.

Trimming multiple plants that yield 2-5lbs a piece by yourself though? Fuck that.

Are we related? Lol

Seriously though, I've been doing the same for years and rarely smoke a joint of bud now except among friends (pre-pandemic). While outdoors camping/canoeing/hiking/mountain-biking I often smoke from a small hash pipe too. I tried vaping weed, but honestly it doesn't do much for me and I prefer the convenience of just having a few bong hits and being good for the evening.

Some of the hash I've made has turned out too sticky (cannot touch it without running for ISO to clean up), and if I try putting it on a screen it instantly melts and flows through the down stem into the water. It's not clean enough for a nail, and too pure for a bong. It's all in the freezer, and honestly I don't know what to do with it. lol

:lol::bigjoint:

And grow with living soil in no-till (though I'm ROLS atm, technically due to circumstances).

Hard to ever want to go back to anything but hash, snobby as it sounds. I've made BHO for longer than I can even remember. I love BHO, and even enjoy the ritual of lighting the nail and all that. Hash just has such a flavor to it.

Nail won't work that stuff you say? That's crazy. Full melt should be able to dab nicely, but then again I only smoke the tiniest crumb of the stuff. Yet another thing I enjoy about concentrates. The same 1/20th of a gram does the same thing for me that it always has, though I definitely don't smoke as much as I used to many years prior.

A nail will work but it makes a mess. I reserve that smoking method for rosin, which I don't smoke too often of these days. Most of the time the press sits unused except when I have company over who love dabbing. And sadly it's been a year since we've had company in the house. lol
