How long will it last...?

Hey all,

I sifted some dry ice kief over 8 months ago and have stored it in well sealed jars in a cool dry location. I dip into it from time to time, but it's a bit too intense so I use it sparingly, and usually just scoop some into a bowl of bud.

I was just wondering how long will kief (or bud, for that matter) last and remain potent if stored properly?

It will last a decent amount of time especially if kept in a dark cool area. But naturally overtime it should degrade a little. Perhaps press the kief to hash so it won't degrade as fast? I've heard of people having delicious full melt hash that is over 7-9+ years old.

I was on a 'hiatus' from getting high for several years (7-8 maybe? idk...anyhow) when, while searching for something else, I found a jar with some shake at the bottom. I forgot about the jar when I stashed it away. It had about a gram or so sealed nicely in the jar. When I opened the lid it smelled really nice. It was dry but I put it in a bowl and toked up. It was the first time I got baked since stashing the jar away. It didn't even draw harsh, as you would expect with dry herb. Just a pleasant 2-3 hour buzz, as good or better than when it was new.
