Keep up the awesome work man! Remember people, "
this isnt about speed and yield!" He make it clear that he is seeing just how
low and small you can get away with. OF COURSE, he would get bigger faster result with more light. Ive seen tons of threads with big lights, but Mr. Growone has got something special here!
Having said that.... man your patience is astounding thank you so much for keeping up with this for so long. I am thinking that perhaps your temps are too low. Ive noticed below 70 when lighted, they kinda slow down a tad. I like to keep mine about 75-78 when lights on and 68-72 off. Ive read that babies prefer closer to 80, but hell, i dunno.
Dont worry about the foil. With the kind of lumens you are generating, i wouldnt think hot-spots are going to be an issue. I cant believe you are having problems with light too close?! I kept some babies under 26w floro's (1 per), until they hit 3" tall, and the bulb was damn near touching them. I burned a leaf resting on ceramic, but it wasnt the intensity of the light. Just seems odd you'd lose all their color at closer. Perhaps you're losing humidity on the leaves and they are getting thin for it?
Anyhow, not to mistrust your call on the lights, i'm just wondering if theres any other factors involved? If its the lights then I'll have to readjust realizations.
Fyi, target closeout internet is selling wireless indoor/outdoor temp/humidity pieces. I got it for about $22 to my door, and it lets me monitor the hi and low humid and temps in the basement, w/o leaving my couch. The transmitter is fairly small. I wonder if something like that could help you monitor the case?
