how many five gallon buckets to a twenty gallon pump?

Hello, I have FINALLY got this hydro thing working, no root slime, murky water or crazy fluctuating Ph levels.

I have two five gallon buckets but plan to add another two. I have a twenty gallon air pump and I'm just making sure I can use this one pump on four buckets with no issues. I fill the buckets to.just a inch under where the netpots sit so I don't full them.to exactly five gallons. Is this ok?

The higher rating per bucket would probably be best.. i have a 60 gallon pump for just one bucket.

Aha yea man.. Might be a bit overkill but when you can get a steal off Amazon, why not?

What are you growing if you dont mind me asking?

If you find a local fish store you can go in and check prices of pumps. Same ones used for hydro but some are cheaper than a hydro store...or buy online

I wouldn't do more than two five gallon buckets with a 20gal pump... I have a 40 gal pump per 12.5 gal on solution in a 20gal res plus I split an industrial inline 35w pump into two one foot air stones then in one of my res' I have a water agitator... I still wish I had more air...

Ive read that for bubbleponics it's best if you can get at least 1w/gal of solution... Whether that's true or not may need to be debated but, it couldn't hurt...

IMO, if I were you I would at a have a 60 gal pump or a combo of 20 gal pumps equaling ~60 gal. Many pumps can be advantageous (IMO) because if one fails only one or two plants are in danger versus the whle grow being at stake... Not to mention less stress on the air pump = less heat the air pump will produce in turn aiding in keeping res' temperatures stable for root development not root rot development. Again, I tend to overkill the bubbles but, so far I like the results...
