I am buying soil for my next grow here within the next 2 days. Was looking into FF happy frog. I want to grow 12-16 plants in 5 gallon buckets. Running 1000 w hps with 40 cfls. Back to the question. I was wondering how much a 2.0 cubic ft bag off FF will fill. I was going to mix in 2 of the 8 qt. bags of perlite into each bag of FF soil. I was hoping that each 2.0 c. ft. bag with 2 bags of perlite will fill 2 of the 5 gallon buckets. Is this possible. Or am i way off. Been a while since i grew in soil, and it was a small scale grow, so im not to sure on this one. Let me no wht yall think....Thank you.

I don't know if Navy has thirty days to wait for cook time? From the link... "Now, we add water and let it cook in the sunshine. Thirty days of cooking is best for this concentrate."

SS are great, but they require a lot of planning, space, research, and time. I plan on adopting SS in my future grows and for outdoor landscaping and my organic vegtables.

I use half happy frog and half ocean forest. Is a great mix and drains well. No problems with it yet.

it comes down to personal prefrence what to mix with your soil. fox farm brand soils have really good drainage from what i hear so its debatable how much better adding perlite to the mix will be. adding perlite will let you fill more pots with less soil though.

I don't know I think it might be beneficial. I have noticed that the Happy Frog does get hard when it's really dry and takes awhile to dry after flushing. I've had no problems with drainage or anything yet, but I think it's worth a try.
