How Many Mason Jars & What Size Jars For A 10-16 Ounce Harvest?

i think i have the correct method planned out and just needing a little info on what jars i should use. im looking at anywhere from 10-16 ounces, being it my first harvest, i am not really sure. i have been looking at Mason jars and have found quart jars, and half quart jars. i know they make them bigger, ive seen them. but, my question is concerning, how big of a jar should i get for the perfect cure? i know to fill them about 3/4 fill, i know to put a hygrometer in the jar, and i have a link with data from this community about what range of humidity the %'s should be at. should i put about 1 ounce per jar? or should i get a the biggest jars, and put as much in there, still leaving 1/4 empty? should i equally divide it up? im confused on how many jars i need and ive been shitting bricks for the past week dealing with the "no nutes the final week" shit!! people been saying dont do that and some people say to do that. i want to get all the next steps planned out in advance and be prepared ahead of time just so i don;t fuck up, or can correct any issues i may run into. here is my procedure for harvesting, and curing:

cut plants, or cut stalks, which ever seems easier when the time comes.
remove all fan leaves and leaves with 0 trichs
snip all the excess sugar coated leafs off (save for hash making)
hang buds to dry in a dry climate with fan on low
wait about 4 days til stems snap, but dont break (have to look int this part a little more)
when buds are dry to the touch, cut from stems and put into jars
burp jars for 15-20 minutes twice a day for about 2-3, possibly 4 weeks, until the smell and taste are at full bore!
once fully cured i can store away for rainy days, or any days that end in the letter Y, lol!!

is this the basic correct methods for a safe and successful dry & cure?? please let me know. the time is coming so close my stomach is turning.

10 - 12 Quart jars.

a quart jar will hold more than an OZ but you want to give them "breaking room" in the jars so that they cure better over time

hang buds to dry in a dry climate with fan on low
wait about 4 days til stems snap, but dont break (have to look int this part a little more)
when buds are dry to the touch, cut from stems and put into jars

Better alternative:
remove stems from buds before drying
Place buds on screens
Dry untill outsides are dry
Place in jars for 12-24 Hours
Place back on screens until buds re-dry
Place buds back in jars for long term cure (minimum 10 days), release moisture daily as needed.

NEVER have a fan pointed at buds. face the fan away from the buds (completely opposite) and place the fan clost to a wall. this will make it so there is no "wind" in the room, only air circulation which is what you want. it should take 5-7 days for buds to dry. dry buds at 65-70 F.

i have head about the screens. they have em on eBay for $35 free shipping. and yes, my methods were a little jagged. i know i need air in the room, but not on the buds. i plan on using my bathroom. blocking the window with some cardboard. buying a small little fan for circulation. the temp will be about 70-75. and the humidity will be about 40-45%. i have a humidifier, if it is needed, but i don;t think it will be.

so i want the quart jars? ok. those seemed small. i have some big buds, first grow, vegged longer then i should have, this strain loved it!! so i was wondering about the taller jars. but i don't know what the size is. i wanna say its the half gallon size. the tall ones, i seen about 2 ounces in them, give or take on the strain. maybe ill get those after everything is done. i was just told not to over stuff, and to not have to much in the jars. i am assuming smaller jars will be better for the initial dry, and to cure i can get the larger, taller jar? i really do think i will be getting at least 10 ounces at least. i hope!! thank you for the info and the help!!

honestly i use Pickle jars (or pickled egg jars, even better...)for my big buds. clean them out with soap + water first, then a second time with rubbing alcohol. it will take the pickle smell away.

you can use window screens to dry buds (its what i use) just make sure they are clean

Quart jars are good because they are small enough that curing doesn't take 30+ days. with the large jars i only put 1-3 Large buds in the jar at a time, that way they can properly release moisture and chlorophyll.

ahhhh i see. that makes sense. i have a bunch of screen to, maybe i will make a hanging rack. i have 1 bud that is the length of my forearm. not as thick, but pretty burly. and another bud the thickness and size of a coke can, maybe a little bigger. so i want to dry & cure them with precision. i can get jars pretty cheap. every time i try to clean out a jar, no matter what it is, it still stinks like what was in there. so i stick to cherry jars only when i need those kind of jars. but my buddies dad owns a science surplus store, i get any size jar for pennies. and less when i buy in bulk. i can get a case of jars for like $20. so i dont mid dropping a few bucks on clean ones.
