i'd rather pay the $2 or $3 extra every month for uninsured motorist protection than to risk a mania ridden motorist like you, and that is even with insurance being mandatory.

i bet the roads were hell right after the election in your area because of you.

look at how much more they are thinking about for taxing cars and such for being on the road. i will bitch about the hole abumercare because i never use the health system unless i need a script for a wheelchair part. there is no reason to pay over 100 in the year for a piece of paper. with the taxes and the new ideas ot "fix" the nation. you can make sure its going to get really fucked up. all because people want ot see a black guy as president, vanity rules this nation not what people died for. america is dead as we no it. believe me when i say, stock up on gold and silver, invest as much in clean energy and have the electric company pay you. find a diesel and covert it into french fry oil and you have your self free living. true free living. you will be able to pay for taxes without the bills you used to have.

I probably would. I prefer the relaxed attitude towards marijuana, gay marriage being legal, healthcare for all, a mind-your-own-business approach to foreign affairs, and the overall friendly demeanor of Canadians.

I'm self employed, and doing very well here, so it wouldn't make much sense to walk away from it all right now, but I could certainly see myself living back in Canada when I'm ready to retire.

Ohh, and another bonus of living in Canada ..... there aren't nearly as many conservative douche-bags like you living there! :-)

So I took a menial job, rather than relocate and take my son out of the school where he is thriving. All was just barely ok, and we were making it, until a memo came down from the franchise stating that specifically due to Obamacare, all workers were being cut back from 40 hours a week to 28 hours a week. Seems that over 30 hours a week, they would have to pay benefits. So we were cut.

That was last September.

So, let's see....I still have no benefits for myself or my wife AND I lost 12 hours a week in pay.

Fuck 2016. Fuck 2015. I have no money or benefits NOW.


ps...ironically, I'm a moderate with liberal leanings. So please don't bash my dislike of Obama. Or any higher level politician. People who think the powers that be actually care about the individual should perhaps re-educate themselves.

Thank you for your input, now how does this work? Obamacare sets up a series of requirements, loopholes are found in order to get around the requirements, companies find and take advantage of those loopholes in the interest of their stock holders and principles and usually to the detriment of their employees. Is Obama to blame for this or are those who are doing their best to undermine the system for their own short term advantage?

In case you see this as being a biased post, i really want to know?

Can the woman who insists on wearing a short skirt be blamed for her being raped? (ah that's a bad analogy but it's all I got right now)

If I go down in flames, my family will take care of me. That’s the way it should be, but people don’t invest in their families and so they end up alone and looking for “Big Brother” to pay their dam phone bill!

That's one view. Another is that pride can be an ugly thing. If you have paid into a system such as unemployment or medicare and you refuse to accept what is due you, is that more ethical than someone who takes advantage of their options? Now, if you refuse to take advantage of what is available to you - that you paid into but you are willing to take advantage of your family, burdening them further simply because you are too proud to go to the government for assistance that you rightfully deserve, isn't that a little selfish?

Finally, it is one thing when the only person involved is yourself. Quite another if you lost your job and you had a family to feed. Would you out of pride let them starve or would you do WHATEVER necessary, including accept "government handouts" in order to see to it that your family was taken care of?

Really? so you go to your doctor and he finds that it is adviseable that you take high blood pressure meds. He also says that all your diet and excercise didn't do enough good and he wants to put you on cholesteral meds. Oh, six months later you get an attack of atrial afib - nothing your doctor is overly concerned over but you get a letter from that private health insurance company you are so happy to have and they say that due to your "deteriorating" health, they are forced to raise your rates by 120 percent. - and then you break a bone falling from your ladder and you get that second letter - "we will no longer be able to insure you at any price - sorry"

Now what?

It was forecast that social security would destroy our country and doom our other government institutions. Now, the majority of people who once would have scoffed at such sweeping social change now at the very least accept it as not such a bad idea after all. I was wondering if anyone here might possibly be open to accepting that perhaps they were wrong. Of course I am aware that the majority of the right are incapable of acknowleging that any of their initial decisions could ever prove to be incorrect in the light of a new dawn of reason but it was just a flight of fancy on my part.

I spoke with him the other day and I boldly told him what I said above: HE AGREED WITH ME!!!!!! He fucking understood what I said, and he admitted our Nation is a FAT SLOB crying over the next ailment they have, then expecting the Government to pick up the tab when they need open heart surgery or a new knee joint because they can't walk with their extra 150 lbs!!!!

Until Obesity is brought under control, nothing can fix our Healthcare system, NOTHING! America is SICK because they won't stop stuffing their faces and they won't exercise!!! The Pharmaceutical industry is FAT with cash and the Health industry is FAT with cash, until now, and the reason is simple; the obese are on disability, can't work, have caused massive medical supply revamping (bigger beds/cranes to lift the obese/larger ambulances/more staff), and those who don't want to pay the high price of Health Insurance have op'd out of Health Plans that have become a joke. That means, the Healthy have backed away from the Insurance Pool that only the sick are using, AND, who aren't contributing to the pool.

This is why Obama is trying to strong-arm people like me to pay in, as he knows, we can survive without Health Insurance, and those are the EXACT people that insurance pools need! But FUCK IT, I'm sick and tired of paying for other people who run to the doctor every day because their bad health is the result of laziness and undisciplined eating habits! FUCK IT, I'll pay my own bills!

This is a nice but unexamined sentiment. Of course vets deserve medical care for life for two reasons, one is that it is the right thing to do and the second is that we as a country should keep our promises. I see on TV these commercials for "the wounded warrior project" where we are supposed to donate our money to warriors who need extended care, be it medical or psychological. I want to know why these people who gave their arms or eyes in service to our country no matter how misguided have to go begging for ANYTHING health related.


However, unless you can show me how our vets of recent wars died or were wounded in the interest of our right to "spout off at the mouth freely without fear of being hung upside down..." I'd love to see it. In many cases we have lawyers and activist individuals who gave their working lives or their freedom to thank for our ability to say what we wish. I have yet to see our military do anything to guarantee my right to speak in this country.

So long as our warriors are held up to this little lie, that they died or die in order to protect our civil liberties they will continue to die for frivolous things like saber rattling politicians (who rarely were in the military). Our citizens will fail to grasp what our military is really being used for and we will ignore those who DO give their entire working lives, a superior livelyhood and perhaps risk ridicule and black listing without the due appreciation they deserve for what they do for our freedoms. I comment Chesus for his standing up for the reality of the situation even in the face of those who mistakenly demonstrate misplaced reverence toward our troops.

They protect our cultural way of life, they stand guard against the nasty people out there who for whatever reason wish to take us down but they also serve our corporations and our national FINANCIAL interests and rarely, these days, do they have anything at all to do with our rights and freedoms.

The more we point that out the less likely it is that our warriors will die needlessly.

Wrong, anyone who gives up what might have been a normal progression of one's civil life in these United States is noble for serving their country. I don't care if you never left your state or even your town, I don't care if all you did in the military was clean the bathrooms, the service of another, the service of one to one's society, one's neighborhood, one''s town or one's family is always and forever a noble cause and it should always been seen as such.

That is a wonderful question actually. I think it all depends upon how much of his policies are still in place in 2016 and how those policies work to our benefit or disadvantage. It is entirely possible that we will wake up in 2016 and say "wow, Bush was a forward thinking president and I see now what he was trying to do, and some of it enhanced our way of life this year and future years - it just took us some time to realize it".

If that is the case, then I will stop my bitching, if it is not, then I will likely continue to complain about his actions during his reign.

If I recall my history correctly, Einsein didn't "help" the U.S.build a bomb, his theories were used to that end but he was not active in the practice, in fact he signed a letter urging the U.S. not to use such a weapon (I seem to recall)
