Do any of you guys use some sort of proxy server or anonymous browser software for added security?

and if you do which one is best.....

I think it would be foolish to think that there AREN'T people on here just to cause trouble for others, whether its "narcs" or "DEA in disguise" or whatever you want to call them.

I think there's only a few, and I think for the most part, they can't/don't do anything, but IMO the possiblity is very real, and not to be taken for granted.

I seen a thread earlier today, someone was asking for people to send them seeds. I'm thinkin In your fuckin dreams pal....good luck pullin that off. IMO it'd be stupid to do that, regardless which end of it you're on.

I reckon there are- just not constantly.
There's a (probably large) number of websites that are tagged to be looked at- I wouldn't think that there's a cop reading 24/7, but just every now and then.
In most areas cops couldn't give a damn about busting a
kid with a couple of grams, but in the odd chance that someone's dealing a few kgs/pounds, it'd be worth their while reading up on it.

Ok first off even if they were here how would they identify you? No one one here is dumb enough to post personal information, and the few that always make an exception to that are so far between that it would be un reasonable to even try to monitor a site like this. The only way for them to get records of users is to obtain the ip addresses from the people who own/run/maintain their servers RIU is hosted on, and to get a warrant for such an act they have to prove that such a website helps in aiding your illegal activity... not in sharing your experiences doing illegal things. Sharing experiences is fine, there is no law against it, and therefore no law against what we are doing here on the site or what RIU itself is doing, only laws against what we do at home. So don't tell anyone what you're doing, what account you use on here, and don't post stupid pics and you'll be fine.

dude thats like saying cops dont monitor craigslist, of course they do, now maybe they wont show up at your door when you post pics of ur crop but they monitor it gauranteed and collect any information possible for an endless database they actually have people whos sole job is to roam the internet for illigal activity

Yeah right and even if they do it would take 10+ people a site scanning threads daily to find something with enough relevant information to actually use as evidence. They have narcs crawling all the Warez (illegal pirated software sites and such) but it takes million dollar law suits just to shut them down let alone obtain any information about the users. They might have bots that go around and flag sites for illegal content and then a few people that sift through the endless piles of data those bots would bring in, but even then a bunch of hobby growers is low on the radar by A LONG shot. Most of the people online looking for illegal activity are looking for sexual predators and people violation copyright laws.

Edit: Collect what information? The forum name I like to go by? That is taken by someone else on at least half the sites I sign up on? There's no info to collect. No like they can just click their way in and see what every users ip address is and where it's connecting from across the nation or the world for that matter. As far as any one country knows every user on here is from another country and until this is damaging someone elses pocket book no one gives a damn what we do here.

I just had to jump on that comment coz there is still a few of us 'old school' types that live by the code of silence and would only say ''No Comment'' if ever they were unfortunate enough to be in such a situation. It is very rare these days to find these type of people but they do still exist.

doesnt really matter I know what sneaky bastards cops are and it would be more likely a narc would be posing as a fellow pothead to gain trust..... wait that sounds just like something a cop would say maybe im 5.0 and then wouldnt you feel dumb after just ramblin bout no cops wasting thier time on here

you didn't hear about lougrew over at IC? the dude with the "FUCK THE COPS" outdoor thread... that yeilded 65lbs no lie... had a whole backyard SOG style trees in a non medical state - Florida. I thought for sure you would have known about that. over 150 plants for sure.

you cannot even type his name over at IC without all the ******* popping up afterwards. crazy.

the cops used satelite technology to identify landmarks in his pics and were able to pin point him. this was last summer (9/18/0.

guess it slipped by under the radar... was in Florida.... he'd done a couple high time shoots. dude was high profile grower.

i didnt see too much of him, he was a lil before my time here, but that thread you linked to, the first post has the pictures i was thinking of.... whether he knew what he was doing, or was an asshole or not, that fucker had balls... it was really cool to see someone section off their yard with a ghetto cinderblock wall and just pack it full of pot plants. it helped my fears of growing a couple of plants inside, thats for damn sure
