so im setting up a grow i already got everything i need except mh lights, im just wondering how many plants can i veg with 2 600w mh, im going to have a 3 stage setup with 2 1000w hps over 40 plants, plan on getting 2lb every 5 weeks when all set up, im going to pick up lights tomorrow but not sure how many ill need

Jorge Cervantes says that 2 600W bulbs are ideal to cover an 8 x 8 room. So however many plants that you can sucessfuly veg depends also on how many you have room to flower too. Got to think down the line, eh? Doesn't do you much good to veg 50 plants if you only got room to flower a dozen. BigSteve.

Sounds silly to put that many plants under 2 lights.
I'm sure you can grow less plants with those lights with equals more room and bigger plants which equal bigger harvest
If I pull almost 6Oz off one plant under a 400W I'm sure 2lbs is easy with 2 1000Ws

yes you can easily pull 2 lbs off 2 1000s but every 5 weeks i do not see that happening sorry. i have been setting up perpetual grows for awhile and unless you have a strain that finishes in 5 weeks or another set of 2 lights that you have staggered the time they went into flowering. you will pull 2 pounds every 2 months

So your buddy is pulling around 15oz from a 1000w. If that's with 5 weeks of flowering then your buddy is seriously growing some immature buds and could probably pull a hell of a lot more with a damn sight more potency if he actually finished them properly.
I pull +15oz from my 400w setup. I veg and flower in the same area though so I'm not perpetual.
Cash croppers who don't grow a plant until its ready do my fucking head in.
In answer to your question though 2x600w MH lamps could veg 1-2 plants or 50-100 plants depends on size, veg time, training methods, pot size etc etc.
Too little info to actually give you a more concise answer.

If I was to grow 40 plants at a time I would shoot for a lot higher number than 2 pounds.

Same thing I was thinking, why I thought it was silly.
Just grow around 20 huge plants and get 2lbs or more.
and not to mention my other buddy has a 3 stage set up and he vegs 15 plants under 600w mh then switches to 1000w hps for flower and he pulls 3/4 lb every month and half with perfect nugs, its a fast growing strain, from everyone iv spoken to every one says i wont have a problem getting 2 lbs

Im setting up some rooms right now. I haven't decided on the size of my flowering room since I will be running 36 clones to start. They will be 1 ft tall when they will start 12/12.
I want to be a perpetual grow as well but I'm thinking 2400 watts. Room as already 12 ft wide and 8.5 foot tall 24 ft long. Just got to think about how big I want it. 36 clones to start with right off the bat and I will introduce some more into the room every week.
I will be running some different kinds with Wonder Woman, Madusa, Tutankhamen, critical mass being mothers.
My critical mass did not yield as much as it should have outside, the Wonder Woman was very impressive. Tut and Madusa I'm interesting in finding out.
If these don't fair well then I have about 60 other varieties to chose from.
I just need a trimmer more than anything.

i could grow 100 plants under 2 1000w if i wanted, 20 plants under each 1000w is ideal, iv witness this happen several times before so go on with ya

Okay then. 2 600w lights. I would put 6 plants under each light. Vegg until 20" to 24" tall then flower. Give plenty of elbow room. Growing 2 lbs is going to take a lot of drying room and give off a lot of odor for people to smell . This will be a full time job of trimming alone. This kind of operation will attract attention. High risk of getting narced.
