how many plants could fit under 1000w?

that depends how big but normally 8 to 10 but i am doing 18 with 1 1000watt on a light mover

I have 15 under a 430 watt hps, it is over crowed.

Anyhow, it all depends on the strain and method of growing.
I'd put a minimum of 16 plants under that much light in a normal setup, aiming to get a final height of 1m.
I myself, in my available space would go SOG and grow around 50 plants under the 1000w aiming for a final size of around 40-50cm.

PG was planetganja. doesn't seem to be alive anymore.
SOG will still give you bigger yields, no meter what the space it - just means more work taking care of more plants.
the idea behind SOG is have more main colas rather than letting side branches grow, resulting in... more yield.
there are plants that react well in sog, some doesn't.
I grow pretty much SOG right now, you can check my journal.
However, it is more work.

as of now i have 28 plants under a 1000w light is about 6 feet from tops
