how many plants in my growroom

hi all ive had a bollockin for buttin in so i will start a new thread no harm meant they were talkin about lighting so ithought i would ask them. any way slight problem i have a 4x4 set up with reflective sheeting on three sides i use hd and hps 400w i have got 4 plants in now cos i was told the plants must not touch each other but when i see pics on the net they are shoulder to shoulder so can anyone tell me how many plants i could safely grow in my growspace by the way you have all been a great help so far thanks

it really depends on how long you veg them. if you flower them early they wont get huge. you could probably veg 8 plants for 5or6 weeks, flower em, kill the males and squeeze the females in no problem, assuming you get about 1/2 fems. maybe you could veg a bit longer. or hold a few more plants. and you said nothing about height. how high is the ceiling, if its low consider LST. there are many factors.
