how many plants should I do?

putting them under 600w hps in 4x4 tent. they have been vegging for 1 1/2 months. topped a few times already and about 2 1/2 ft tall. they're in fox farm soil. should I do 5-7 gal pots and how many?

AT 2 1/2 ft tall now I wouldn't do more than 4 plants in a 4x4 space. As far as pot size, it looks like you are in a 2gal now. If you plan on transplanting and going straight to flower then the 5 gal will be fine, if you are planning more veg time after transplant then go with the larger pot.

Suggest you strongly consider a SCROG if possible. Make the most of that 600 watts.

@WattSaver is spot on with plant count. Trust me. I flower with the same setup you're running including light.

I would go with four and top all four of them level. Then spread them out with bamboo or net. Depending on what you are growing, you are going to have some height and then possibly heat issues as a result. I always tried to keep everything at about 3.5 ft tall in a tent. That way there was plenty of space to move air and work.

Should I do 1 more? I did 3 in 7 gal pots. and do I have to make the scrog or does it come all pre made?

You make it. Make a square out of pvc and string. There’s plenty of how to guides on the internet. Fairly cheap to boot.
