the pot is......say.........8" tall. the lights will chop off another 8" or 10". that's 18" inches of vertical space. that kinda space is VERY difficult to grow in, and manage.

Im building a special box, and havent got it done yet. I was going to have a flip top roof, with the lights attached. I guess I could add an extra foot onto it no problem.... Ive been reading that MH is the best, and T%s the next best for veg, but if i was to go for CFL's, what would you recommend?

the GE Energy smart bulbs come in a 6500k bulb for veg. flower bulbs are easy to find. they get hot. keeping a small box cool with be challenging........

Cheers man...Ill have a separate area for flowering. approx 7ft tall, 600 watt grow. Just still trying to figure out veg room dimensions, lights etc....

So a 4 foot tall box, with 1 6500k bulb should be sufficient to veg 4 plants (6 max)????

I use a typical clothes closet...use one 23 watt (6500k) per plant, then add more bulbs as they grow bigger.

At about 3 weeks, I put them under the HPS (at 50% power) and mixed in a few CFL's

After a few more weeks I eliminated the CFL's and ran the HPS at 100%
