How many pots can be filled with 3 cubic feet of soil?

So I just bout some two bags of FoxFarm Ocean Forest Potting soil yesterday. I'm growing 25 plants all together. Each bag of soil is 1.5 cubic feet. I'm figuring that I'll use about one bag of soil before I weed out all of the males. After that my plant count will get cut in half. Then I'm figuring that I'll use the second bag for the rest of the females. So my Q is how many pots can I fill with these bags?? Like if I had say 12 full size female plants??

One US gallon is 0.133681 cubic feet, so 3 cubic feet is 22.4 gallons. On the 1 gallon per month rule you'd need at least a 3 gallon pot for each female for an indoor grow, so that's 36 gallons of soil for 12 females. Better buy another few bags, or mix generous amounts of perlite, vermiculite, etc. to make up the balance.

Thanks snake, I'll probably buy a couple more bags in a month or two. Just tryna get a rough estimate for now.

Don't forget to take into account the container that the plant is already in. Transplanting a 5" container into a 2 gallon pot would skew the measurements. But you're smart, you can finger it out...

This 10 inch cola disagrees.

whats the 1 gallon per month rule?
I've never heard of this, but I assume it would be that your container should be one gallon of soil for every month the plant as been alive. i.e. if you veg for 6 weeks, it should be in a 2-3 gallon pot.

I use one cubic foot bags of Miracle-Gro Potting Mix and one bag fills 2 3-gallon pots for me.
My 3-gallon pots are the usual 10-12 inches so normal shape. I've seen older deeper 3-gallon pots that
fill 2 1/2 pots per bag.
