How many watts should I be using on a 1 week old seedling?

I have 1 autoflower seedling. She is 1 week old today. She is abut an inch tall. She has 1 true set of leaves. I started her in a root riot cube from seed of course. I have been using 2 17w flouros on her. So should I add more light or wait alittle longer? If I need more light, how much more do I need?

Your good for now. Maybe for another week or so. As long as you keep em close! 2" max. Once you get your first or second set of 5 finger leaves, upp your wattage to as much as you can.

I have a 150w hps. I was waiting to use it because I thought it would be a waste of power just for a 1 week old seedling. She just 1 set of leaves just starting her 2nd set of leaves.

dont mean to hijack thread but i just purchased a 125 watt cfl for my seeds will this be ok untill they go under the 600watt hps

Not watts Lumens and my advice is whatever you can throw at it and from every angle. As for the 125w CFL guy... is it actual or equivalent? how many seeds? I use 406000 lumens of red and blue CFL for veg and 600w HPS for flower I vegfrom 5 to 10 plants for about 6 weeks and LST the shit out of them topping and or fimming every 3 inches

If you can find those lights sure :) I also use 4 23 watt warm daylight cfl bulbs ill upgrade later but for now shes thriven! Keep em super close all 4 angled with the side of the light hitting plant (more light comes from side than top) and a fan blowing directly on plant and lights to give fresh air lower temp and build a thick strong stem ;)

mine is same light as 1 u described with red and blue i only got it for seeds i use a 600 watt hps for veg and flower or i will as this my 1st 1
