how many plants can I fit under a 400 watt hps, where I'm using 5 gallon containers and keeping the light about 12 to 14 inches away from the tops?

iv had 5 plants under a 400watt hps in a 1.2m x 1.2m grow tent and its be fine if that helps

It really depends more on how big is your grow space? Generally, I would go anywhere from 1-4 plants under a 400w.

In 5 gallon pots I'd say 2 max to maximize yeild.

hmm i don't know. i've got 9 under a 600 watt...but i also didn't veg them to be very big
