In states in which it's legal, doctors recommend medical marijuana for many conditions and diseases, frequently those that are chronic. Among them are nausea (especially as a result of chemotherapy), loss of appetite, chronic pain, anxiety, arthritis, cancer, AIDS, glaucoma, multiple sclerosis, insomnia, ADHD, epilepsy, inflammation, migraines and Crohn's disease. The drug is also used to ease pain and improve quality of life for people who are terminally ill.

Just saying, but weed definately doesn't help with ADHD. It only makes it worse. Not a bad thing, but not the result a person would seek from medication either.

It doesn't help with focus whatsoever. My friend has ADHD and it makes it worse. I have ADD and my focus sucks high.

I guess it depends on the person. It has help me before when working or studying, but it still has potential for helping with ADD
Four main symptoms of ADD/ADHD are inattentiveness, impulsivity, procrastination and hyperactivity. Weed can potentially help with impulsivity and hyperactivity as a lot of people tend to feel lazy, but that same laziness can help with procrastination. Lack of attention is generally increased while high, though you may be able to hyperfocus, but the scope for that is quite small, so you can only focus on one thing at a time.

I have to disagree with you, i was diagnosed with ADD years ago and the benefit of mary jane has helped in a number of ways, i can really concentrate, when i have to do a project around the house it gives me the mind set to get it done and i do. It does depend on the person as was stated, but weed has many advantages that other meds dont have, like side effects.

I have ADD...well I havent been "diagnosed" with it, but my doc's have told me in the past that I seem like I do have it and thats why I did terrible in school, but weed has always helped me focus a lot...I'd smoke a blunt and knock out 3 hours of homework.. which was nearly impossible when not high.

Perhaps I'm not smoking a strain that actually helps.
yeah that could be it, I mean the difference between sativas and indicas is vast, indicas help me more with focusing, a pure sativa will give me a lil anxiety and make me feel all racy and up.

See it's the reverse somewhat for me. While some sativas make me anxiety, sativa's mostly help me get focused and feel like working and doing something. Which isn't often with my pain while Indica helps me fall asleep.
Then you also have to start talking about the hybrids that mix sativa and indica, like Whiteberry:weed:(just an example), It's a 75% Sativa to 25% Indica. I take a hit of whiteberry every 3 to 4 hours and I feel mostly normal all day, and by night the indica's feel comes through and I'm ready to fall asleep.

Think of Cannabis like a dog, thier are so many different strains(or breeds) that all do something a little different and look different, and since Cannabis is male/female, we can alter by breeding the plants to make them do what we want. For example, Whiteberry was made by mixing a mostly sativa White widow female with a blueberry male that I believe was pure or mostly Indica(I could be wrong on the genetics).
You also have to realize not one person is alike, we are all simalar, but all different to. Cannabis is exactly the same way, not all are created equal=Think mexican grade swag compaired to California medical grade DANK. Just because Whiteberry works for me, doesn't mean it will work for your specific type of pain.
