Hello everyone, first post here, so don't tear me a new asshole lol.
I read in a thread somewhere that somebody had a 250 watt CFL in a closet setup and it went up to 105 degrees, so I'm setting up a closet grow right now, and am concerned about this potentially being an issue. Maybe they didn't have good ventilation or air circulation, or outside temps were already high. But if I got a cool 68 degree temp outside the room, with ventilation changing the air of the entire room every 3 minutes, an oscillating fan blowing at the top of the plants and lights, and am also using 250 watt CFL in 5 square foot space (40 cubic foot), would high temps still be a valid concern?
I haven't grown yet, just trying to get everything down-pat before I start.
I have an idea though in case the heat is high, even if its 80s I'm gonna wanna try it: I'll poke a hole in the rubber inseem lining of my freezer which is close to the closet, and line tubing into it, right into the vent in the back where the air coming out is coldest. Going 4 feet outside, that would connect to an airsealed glued shut tupperware container with a 950 gph commercial air pump inside, which nozzle pokes outside of the container and the connected tubing goes through the wall into the grow room, probably right above the light to cool it. The plug of the air pump would obviously have to come out of the container so I could just seal it with gorilla glue, but I'd have to put a second bigger hole in the wall for the plug to go through to be plugged into a thermostat that tells it when to turn on and off. I'm sort of a perfectionist so if any of you guys could make good recommendations on humidifiers, dehumidifiers, thermostats, and humidistats I'd appreciate it, it seems like I'll have temperature under control, but I don't wanna neglect humidity, cause I read lower RH during flowering and harvest boosts resin production, and that would be most favorable.
I will only be growing 2 plants at one time to start, so they have plenty of root space in the 18 gallon container which will be filled with half organic soil and half perlite. I will defoliate, LST, supercrop, and FIM these babies so the goal is to surpass the 1 g / watt / plant I've read about so many times, so I'll have at least a lb from the 2 fat mommas. I'll be doing one feminized super bud, and one feminized pure kush. Later grows will include liberty haze, the doctor, bubble yum, BBxWW, super lemon haze and so much more. Watch out for me guys I hope I can blow your minds!
