When I first wanted to get into indoor growing, I was very skeptical when people told me that it would take thousands of dollars.
Well I built my first grow room out of OSB plywood and 2X4's and I did it for less than $100.
My 2nd grow room which is for vegging, I built out of 2X4X6 steel shelving unit. Which ended up costing me $125
Now I know I saved quite a bit of money on the expense of my grow rooms. But what makes the plants actually grow efficiently is where the money lies.
3- 4 foot T12 ballasts and 6 bulbs for seedlings and cuttings - $35
1- 2 foot T5 fixture with 6 Bulbs for vegging - $175

I love planting and I love it even more indoors. It gives me something to do. But for a hobby it surely is an expensive one.
