cos im shit a diy projects , i saw somewhere on this site a guy had put a sheet of glass cut to hes closet dimensions - 2cms for air flow just below hes 400hps to stop the heat do u think this is a decent approach to heat issues? would the glass mess up with the light

seems unpractical. jjust get a good fan and keep the door open when the lights are on.

Dude! with that small of a space, you need to consider CFL's. 1 good 125/200 cfl would do you just fine, and a lot cheaper too, no suspicious high wattage consumption, & a lot less heat.
Good luck & good grow.........BB

BTW - If you live in a 220 volt country - There's an outfit on ebay that sells 150, 200, & 300 watt, 220 volt, cfl's for a killer low price - I think the 200's go for around US $16 and they come in both veg & flower, anyway, again, gl

Really the 250W is not going to be that much cooler than the 400W. If you have a decent ventilation and exhaust setup then you should be good. Just don't think you will be able to close the closet off and seal that light in there with no exhaust, it will be an oven in there! There are cheap ways around these things, my closet is full of 'em!!!

Or you could buy a CMH bulb for your HPS light fixture (if its a magnetic ballast). You will get better bud and only a little more heat than with CFL's

Its a different kind of light bulb that they only make for 250 and 400 watt systems. It's used in factories to get more of a white light with the same HPS ballast, but it also has a much better and thicker spectrum of light. If you have a MEGNETIC HPS ballast, then you can read about them and order them on this site.

The bulbs are cool enough to touch, so heat is not an issue with these bulbs.
The bulb can be used for both vegetative and flowering stages and it will make more healthy and potent buds.
