How much longer for this T5/CFL grow?

Strain: Cotton Candy
Flowering for approx 8 weeks under 4X4 T5 & a bunch of CFLs for side lights.
Trichs on leaves are turning amber, but I can't get a good look at the trichs on the buds (how do I even do this?)

Um you are my hero for pushing t-5's and cfl's and producing this cannabis verynice. I would highly suggest a scope/hand glass like a jeweler uses to scope the numbers on metal of at least x30 preferably x60 if you can. Amazon has em cheap if you dont mind waiting a few days well at least where i live its a 3-4 day wait from the zon! they will enable you to see those trichs much better, also bear in mind that trich color can dictate the buzz your cananbis gives, cloudy white-uppy buzz amber and folding in is more of a couchlocked buzz ive heard. They look wonderful tho, we can never expect the same plumpness as hps can give ya but my oh my are they pretty. You go with 6000k t-5's or the red 3000k? I have never used cfl's but hey they seem to work quite well!

I got a scope, but I'm not steady enough to look at buds while they're still on the plant. I'd feel silly to cut one off just to get a look at it. Should I just do this anyway?

The T5 is only for flower. Veg is only under cfls.

Just cut a small sugar leaf close to the bud and go by that

If you are seeing amber on the leaves, I would cut a sample for closer inspection. It may be done. Have you started flushing?

I've been hesitant to do this, but it sounds like the best way to get an accurate read. And, yeah, no nutes for almost 2 weeks.

Once you start getting amber triches, it becomes more of a personal preference as when to chop. If you like a heady high, or couch lock.
From what ive heard and read its a very short window once triches turn amber til you actually start getting degradation in the thc. Don't know from personal experience, cause i usually chop at about a 30 to 40% ratio

Colour of Trichs, or Ambering...."This head high", and "Couch lock" theory's saying trich color dictating buzz are crap in my opinion!???.....Depends Solely on Genetics and Strain of Plant when to harvest, and what trichs and ambering look like for that strain....Good luck

OK, I'll see if I can hold out for that long. It's not going to be easy.

I especially keep getting thrown because I can find plenty of amber trichs on certain sugar leaves, but not everywhere...

Never said triche color would change actual type of high for the strain. Just that it will cause the high to vary 1 way or the other for the strain. Next time you harvest, chop 1 when triches are milky and then chop when triches are amber.
Bet theres a diff

ugh, can't wait. Me thinks it'll be chopped tonight, and I'll just chalk it up to experience. There's one of the same strain right behind it, so I'll do some experimentation with flowering times.....

But, under a scope, looking at the buds, everything looks cloudy with an occassional clear and amber here and there.

By doing that, I would be harvesting before plant is ready....and basically shooting myself in the foot! Thanks, I know what you mean...I just don't do it! Cheers!
