How much longer: your opinions please!

I have read up on all the threads I could find and all the resources on t'internets and could only decide that they aren't ready yet. There are about 20% (total guesstimate) red hairs and nice trichrome formation, but by my calculations** it should've been ready about now.

**Calculations we're based off the strain and the fact I got them from clones that a mate had let me take- the OG mother took about 60 days total. I am on day 50...

Think another 10 days will do it? Should I stop nutrients and begin just the water phase, or just keep going a bit longer business as usual?

Thanks for all the help...

When should I harvest my plants?

The 30X and 100X lighted magnifier are tools everyone serious about harvest timing should have. They make it easy to monitor the resin development process. After seeing 400X images of resin glands, I decided to also buy the 100X magnifier. It supplies a superior view, providing an enhanced perspective of resin gland condition and development.

I recommend buying the 30X model first and if you would like to expand your analytical capabilities, buy the 100X model. They both allow for a much closer inspection of the clarity, color and condition of the resin glands, which should be swollen and unbroken while remaining transparent and slightly amber, if at all, at the peak of ripeness. Some prefer harvesting earlier, as THC degrades to more sedative cannabinoids as the glands ripen.

Harvest timing is a matter of personal preference. When the glandular trichomes are clear with very little, if any coloration, THC levels are at their peak with CBD and CBN both at levels that will not overly influence the THC with their sedative effects. Some prefer more overwhelming narcotic type effects, allowing the resin glands to cloud and begin to amber or darken to increase overall cannabinoid content. The resin glands appear and therefore will mature at different times. A compromise is made when determining the desired overall maturity level to harvest. It depends on the growers preference in effect and palate.

Cheers all for the responses! I know i know, patience is virtue.. Like I had said, they should've been done by now! Oh well, I ordered a 40x loupe off ebay for less than $10- it will be here in about 10 days. ill post another after I get it and check out the trichromes.

Oh- I forgot to ask.. Is it always safe to ascertain that when the hairs turn, so do the trichromes? Can you have white-ish hairs and amber trichromes or are they pretty much in unison. As you can tell i haven't done this often, LOL!

I'd say you have more like a month. Plant looks real solid.

Forget buying a scope - Keep looking at harvest photos; after awhile you will see when they are done with your naked eyes. They will fill out and shimmer when they are ready.

Patience GrassSmoker. Looks like you got some nice sloow sativa there. mmmmmmm. Go with the trichomes.
Radio Shack sells a nice compact 100x for about ten bucks.

I'd be inclined to say a month also. There's a lot of new growth, it will fill out a lot more during the latter stages of the flowering cycle.

Oh and I haven't stopped with the nutes. Still doing a full TBL of bloom and a bit of liquid Karma. I do some Mg salt every other gallon and randomly will toss some blackstrap molasses in there..
Anything else that could increase them flowers much?

Oh ya, pulled off a few stems from the bottom- definitely not ready but were stunted because of how low they were. Dried quickly and it was amazing...

I don't know. All the fan leaves are turning yellow as expected, but if I were to wait another month or something i think there wouldn't be much left!
I got clones in the bubbleponics tub and am going to start them in 12/12 soon, so I think i am going to harvest this one soon... The triches look whitish in eye view, but my loupe hasn't arrived yet...

by the end of flowering most or all fan leaves should have died or be dieing. fan leaves get yellow cuz they are taking the stored energy and nutes out of them and putting it all into budding.
