How Much Longer?

Lol definitely not buying a $1000 led, but I wish! What I don't get is I've read articles about people pulling over an ounce with cfl setups under 150 watts total. I want to be one of those people! My grow space is 2'x2' and I have 236 watts of cfl. Is 28 grams with my setup out of the question? Thanks Bro!
What you get weight wise is relative to veg time and light output. Also relative to strain and how handy you are with that Strain.
However there's a few more rules of thumb you can use as a guide.

28 grams is not out of the question at all tho. If you were to take your 236 watts, I can almost guarantee that a long veg would give you a bigger yield. Not 236 grams. But I reckon close to 90 your first few try's.

You're only humbly aiming for 10% of your total wattage (23 ish grams) , that should be easily attainable with a good veg time and keeping the canopy nice and low and nice and spread out :), like a proper manifold tat goes horizontal- more surface area and less height , yours still looks cool tho!

Let me let you into my little secret - if I want big yields - I veg for 60 days in hydro. I can pull almost a kilo off ONE plant, with the correct training. I often hit over 1GPW doing this method. Mix of 9800w LED and 2000w HPS. Grow trees :)

Thanks for the info! Yeah, a longer veg will increase yield, but also give me a big ass plant that won't fit in my space, lol. I wanted to circle these 6 tops around the pot, horizontally in order to get that lower canopy, but ended up not! Now, I wish that I would have. I'm hoping that I get at least an ounce with my current setup alone, but I will add more lighting for sure, as I do have like 2+ months flower left. And there's no way you can compare my cfl grow to your fucking monstrous 12k watt light show you have going on at your place lol! Just give me .3 ounce a cola and I'll be satisfied with this second grow. Thanks again

It's all relative :) you'll get better each time and before long you'll have upgraded everything you have..I can almost guarantee it! Hahah
I only have 8 plants for those lights btw, 1 light per plant, lights of varying sizes depending what I could affOrd at that point. That's how I know that a long veg and some heavy training can create massive yields because I squeeze what I can out of each plant.
Anyways, back to your plants- I would say next time get that bitches legs spread right oot! Your side branching then becomes the middle of the canopy= more flower sites ..yada yada

As for LED , if you do go for a 400w , I would suggest the "platinum led" brand.
It's a true 400w alternative and it's got bridgelux diodes and not crappy Epistar like Mars. Both middle of the road but Bridgelux is more reliable as far as the comparison goes.
I have one for a mother and it's awesome!

I would split this bitches legs wide open right now if they wouldn't snap! I understand for next time I should use a led or hps, but for this grow I am pretty set on my cfls. I want to fully flower a plant with just cfls and see the results to be had. So what do you believe I could pull in my current conditions? Plus, other cfls may be added for side lighting. So what I really want to know is, is the light currently penetrating enough to possibly form decent colas at the top that are at least 4 inches long?

Looking at your photos, you can actually see where your CFL light starts to lose its intensity. Look at the 3rd pic. About 1/3 of the way down the cola te light starts to fade gradually until the bottom where it's pretty dark.

I don't think you'll have any problems pulling an oz dry off that plant at the least tho. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised what you do get , but I would urge you to get some more supplemental CFLs for some lower lighting or side lighting, make the most of all those lower flower sites that people often make the mistake of chopping off when mainlining. You could end up with 3-4 oz from it if you beef up the lights a little and hit those sites. You're on the right track :)

Wooooo! Exactly the response I wanted to receive! Lol I'll definitely add more cfl lighting on the lower parts. Thanks bro! Appreciate all the info

Just posting an update to my girl. Standing at 2ft 4" tall, and an average cola length of 10". Cola diameters average at about 2", with the thickest, two top node colas measuring 2 1/2". I believe I was selling myself majorly short when I said I was only looking to get 28 grams minimum because I may get that on each cola! Haha, it has been 5 weeks 5 days since I was given advice on this thread that my sativa dom would probably finish in about 7-8 weeks. So, if these predictions were correct I would only have 1-2 more weeks left. I'm thinking more time than that for the calyxes to swell, fully frost, and finish. What do you guys think? Thanks!

Yep keep em going! Not looking anywhere ready yet ..at least another 2-3 weeks but could be longer. Take your cycles down for an extra hour of dark to help things speed up a bit / "winters definitely coming" mode.

Looking super impressive for CFL :) good job indeed!

Thanks man! I definitely appreciate the info and advice. I just popped a couple tabs on the timer to hopefully speed it up! I can do 2-3 weeks more, 5 max! Hopefully it's some pretty good smoke. Yeah, it's 236 watts of cfl. I can't wait to see the dry gpw on this one. Thanks again bro.

Take em the full 5!!! It'll probably be some absolute weapon smoke! Keep your humidity low in there too, low as you can for those big colas
Lol I'll try to contain myself when they start finishing up and I'm tempted to chop! Yeah, I have my plants in a washer/dryer room so I get to use the inline exhaust fan to the outside. Works well for humidity and temp; 79℉/38% is the norm. Thanks again man

So Wednesday will make it 10 weeks of flowering and it's still looking nowhere close to being finished. I think I'm going to transplant into a bigger pot. What do you guys think? Maybe it will free up the roots more and allow for more nutrient intake? Thinking about bumping up to a 5 gallon pot.

Sorry I've been AFK lol.
Trust you to find a strain that has a finishing time of X, after telling you to go by rule of thumb. hahaha!
Now you reallllyyyy need a jewlers loupe or a pocket Microscope so we can find out what's going on in some more detail. Call it an absolute necessity now. Amazon has them. I just type in "grow room microscope " lol.
Looking good by the way :) bet you can't wait to smoke it and check out how much you got!
And totally forgot you mainlined.... You don't need any tips from me ;)

@HazednConfused Is the plant with the arrow also on flowering cycle? or, is that spotlight above it set to a different light schedule?
That plant has been under 12/12 from seed. I just decided to pop a seed in a cup one day just so I would have something to tinker with while my mature plant finished. 7 weeks later, I still have the little bastard that seems to be thriving lol. I'm just going to let it finish for the hell of it. Here's some updated pics of it

Okay, was just making sure you didn't have different light schedules going on there. :bigjoint: As that would definitely screw things up. Otherwise I concur with what everyone has stated already, your big gal looks super and really impressive how you kept it all even.

Yeah, that would have made a huge mess of things! :p thanks bro! I appreciate it! It's been a fun grow, watching things take shape, but its taking FOREVER. Today marks the beginning of the 13th week of flowering, 16 weeks, 2 days overall, and it's still not finished. I'm guessing it's unknown strain has some landrace phenos. 7 gal pot. The trichomes are cloudy right now, but I'm looking for at least 40% amber trichs. Hope this happens within the next couple of weeks. Thanks again!

18 weeks 5 days overall, 14 weeks 3 days of flowering. So to all of those who keep telling me two more weeks, enough with it lol.it's been about 18 days since I lay updated, and it still doesn't look done! I've lowered the lighting to 10/14. I'm thinking about going 9/15 soon to hurry things along. The colas seem to have swelled a bit and have gotten denser since last update. All trichs are cloudy, with about 1% of those amber. About 60% of hairs have turned amber and receded a bit.I removed all popcorn the other day. I also chopped one whole branch about 10 days ago and I have it in a jar curing. I have no idea when to chop this bitch down. A big fuck you to any future sativa grows.

I chopped early this year. Mostly milky tricks with a few sparkly heads. Well I will always be chopping from here now on. Never again shal I wait for fields of gold. Me and my friends are MINCED, euphoric, energetic and if you smoke too much it still sends you off to couch lock. I think I'm converted.
Point being that I reckon just go ahead and chop as you won't be disappointed! Sometimes it works not to follow the rules I've been finding out this year!
