How much should i check on them?

It kind of depends on your prep work and rainfall. Fill me in a bit more...
weather man says its going to rain tomorrow, I brought out buckets for each plant filled with soil etc its in a very well lighted place sunlight almost all day, any more info you need?
is that you mcweb?

What is your average rainfall in the area at this time of year?
Let's just cut to the chase here. More than likely you can get away with a weekly watering in the beginning. As the plants grow, they will start to need more. I'm guessing you will have no idea if it has rained on your plants, so I think you are going to make quite a few trips up there. Next time you are there stick a cheap rain gauge nearby, that should help guide you.

Glad to help. Next grow you can add a wetting agent to your soil if you don't get huge amounts of rainfall. That stuff will hold moisture for your plants long after the rains have passed.

ya my advice would be to make the weather.com one of your bookmarks and keep an eye on rainfall. if 3+ days go by without rain you know youll need to make a trip out there. unless its a common hiking area (or where you enter the woods is at least) you want want to go out there too often so people dont think sumthings up with a guy walking into desolate woods with a gallon of water, nutrents and pesticides. if casual hikers or anyone is aroulnd just pace about or strech like your going for a jog untill they pass

Twice a week. That way you can keep a good eye on them. Things tend to happen. Once wild pigs knocked over my buckets, once i had bugs real bad. But i was able to save them because i never neglected them to much.
