From what i hear i can get away with keeping the light around 4 inches or so away from the tips of my plants but with proper ventilation of coarse.. any ideas??
You know I had mine about 4 inches away and I backed off to about 8-10 inches and the stretched but in a healthy compact wayI've got 2 - 150s in my box, plus a couple of cfls. I've got the smallest bathroom fan I could find ( I think it's like 80cfm) from home dePOT, and even then in colder months I can throttle it back to half.
I've got the lamps in DIY cooled hoods. I can put glass in, but usually don't.
Regardless, I find my plants do better when the bulbs are at least 8" away. They don't seem to like to be too close, even though by my hand it's not too hot.
yah thanks for advice on this thread, i was wondering if my 150w hps (69.50) would be able to use the 4 inch 80 cfm from htg supply also, and if so would i need a cooling flange and 4 in flexable ducting, its for a closet grow, and another thing is it supposed to suck the air away from the bulb or through the ducting/air being drawn through the fan?
