ok. i did some heavy reading and made some asumptions. i want to write them down hoping someone with knowledge will say ''yea'' or ''nay'' to all or some. i'll write what i've learned you be the judge?
disclaimer... this might be a ''mythical'' situation.
or it may be true
.... for LEO!!
by the little i found through searches and email contacts on the subject of a true creeper strain and the comments that i can remember from the guy who had the seeds he tossed in this area. his word's were something like this. (been over 20 years so something is gonna get lost maybe?)
''this is really hard to grow inside i guess, the dude i get it from gave up and is using a small greenhouse and he said it's still relly hard to do, hydroponics don't even work. he's a student at the U for horticulture. a buddy i went to school with since we were in grade school. he said it's really a bitch. he got the seeds from some guy in his class. i don't know much more but he said it's not even a good idea to grow it outside for whatever reason.''
i can only remember some other things we talked about that had nothing to do with the growing part of the plant, he never mentioned ''creeper''. he just kept saying the best weed on the planet. after smoking it everything else is pretty fuzzy. well, really fuzzy actually.
from other bits and pieces doing a search and corespondence.. true creeper from what i can gather is a tropical, deep in the jungle strain. only known/found to grow in the remote areas of the rainforests in south america. it's rare and widely unknown, and considered a ''myth''. some who claim to have knowledge of it have said it should be considered a sub-species. there's ruderalis, indica, sativa and this should be considered the fourth. like ruderalis it might be a different one alltogether. anything beyond that i can't find anything.
so based on this and reading ..my asumptions... marijuana is extremely adaptable to it's surroundings. it will over time become a different animal altogether by sending some genes dormant and awaking others if conditions demand it. in the tropical regions, where it's possibly from, the demand for more resin than in the colder regions would lower the content through the years because the conditions no longer demand it. durring the past 20+ years this plant should have adapted to the new regions' conditions and become a completely new strain with some of the attributes dormant. there but just not needed. other dormant traits would come to the fore and allow it to survive and become a very stable plant, ready to be bred in less hard to emulate conditions. essentially allowing itself to grow inside a region with more than one season. only time will tell if it's any good anymore. maybe november, lol.
what i'm seeing... what i think is the mother root-set sends out mutiple stalks like spider legs. i found one with 11, one with the 7 mentioned before and a few with several, and some still brand new (apparently, could be another plant that rooted and broke away who knows?). the stalks grow about three inches above ground and angle toward the ground and spread vine-like over the top of the forest floor. on top of old leaves, sticks and low lying foliage like poison ivy, and is climbing on and up the berry bushes there. the branches snake out from the root and every two to four inches a clump of six or seven five part, short and wide leaves form, some dark, some lighter but not bright. none to date (leaves) are any more round than the top of a soda can. from some of these clumps, branches shoot out and continue just like the stalk. sometimes the shoots or the original stalk is directed under another plant or stick or whatever and the node contacts the ground and re-roots. this basicly starts another plant shooting off in several directions, and the process is started all over again. this is why i'm never sure if i'm looking at the original root-set or a new one. what this means is pretty amazing i think. it means from one seed there's a whole crop forming. ''one'' seed. i counted 30 plants interconnected and there was more, i just wanted to leave because i figured i was hanging around to long. lol, got paranoid. anyway, i see no signs of flowering yet. the stalks and shoots are at no point larger than about 1/8 of an inch, maybe 3/16ths so far and i see no signs they will get bigger. the stalks are clearish green and red and look like they are brand new or fresh and the same from beggining to end. tiny hairs are all along the length of the shoots and stalks. all are soft and delicate. they bend without breaking, and have no snapping sound to date. but after bending the shoot or stalk above the bend dies and from the clump just below the bend another shoot forms and grows out. most of the plant is crawling right on the ground or whatever is on top of the ground. after it leaves the root it never goes up again, except little humps here and there, unless it's climbing something.
