how often should exhaust fan come on?

Should an exhaust fan be on all the time to bring in fresh air and take all heat from lights out? or just when it gets to hot and the air needs to be exchanged?

a fan for your light needs to be on while the light is on but you could put your other fans on timers iguess mine havent been off in years, other than cleaning

I have my exhaust fan connected to the lights. So when they turn off so does the fan. Shouldnt there be a smaller intake fan on during the evening to supply fresh air to the plants. Or are they ok for air until the lights come on again?

Connect it to a thermostat so it controls your temps.
Then have other fans for circulation on 24/7.
Thats my setup.
