How often should i fertilize my plant?

When should i start using fertilizer and are there directions on the back of the package as of to fertilize the plant? How often should i water my plant also?

don't go by the instructions on the back, they always are on the high side,(they are salesmen too),
too many variables...
light, age, root size, phase of growth, type of medium, etc.

i havent started my plant yet but i dont want it to die mid stage because i dont know how much to fertilize it, the transplant pot will be a 3 gallon pot so that gives you an idea of how big it will be. How often should i water and how often should i fertilize?

Do 1/4 the recommended. If it works fine, do 1/2 strength next time. Then 100% if it still takes well to it.

Follow watering directions on the nutrients, it will likely tell you to add them one a month, once a week, etc and then water normally in between.

If the leaf tips start turning orange and drying out, give it a flush and cut back the nutes.
