How often should lights be replaced?

So I got a 1000W that has been running straight for eight months and am wondering if it is time to switch the bulb it is a hortilux. I changed my set up dramatically about two months ago and so do not have a completely accurate guage of the light change b/c so many factors have been changed. I also started using a light rail which is spreading the light farther.

How often should lights be replaced

1 year is what the people that sell bulbs tell you. My buddy's been using the same hps 1000 watter for like 6 years with no problems. So, somewhere in between there.

Luminosity would presumably decrease over time as the bulbs efficiency decreases. Although I do not know by what amount it decreases over time, but I would use it until the difference is noticeable, or when you want to replace it, or when it fails, whichever is sooner and moves you most.

I change every 8 months, every 2 cycles, I don't know for sure if that's what you should do or not, I do just to be on the safe side, I guess it depends on how long you run it a day and if it's a cheap bulb, chances are they go out quicker. That's why I change every 8 months cause I buy my 400 watt hps bulbs for $45 so.......

I think 9-12 months sounds about right at 12hrs a day. I dont mind spending the extrabuck I just want to make sure that it is worth it and I keep the gnarliest buds I can

wtf r u smokin it must be some good weed

cfl's say on the box 5 years guarantee.

even if the manufacturer is bullshitting us, i can attest that cfl's work fine after 3 years. The clone box still blinds me with 75 watts of 3-4 year old cfls running.

Has long has a light is kept clean of dust then i would replace the bulb once a year.Hps light bulbs are not thatexpensive and it could cost ounces if left unchanged......................................tyke..........................................................
