The more i read on here the more confused i get, i see that growers only water once a week. i left my plants alone for half a day and they were dry as hell. Also when yall talk about feeding how do you do that, there has to be more to it than just pouring it in the soil. the stuff that i have is a organic phosphurous supplement "miracle gro", alaska brand fish fertilizer, and superthrive, "vitamins and hormones". what would yall suggest i do with em. I have five plants all in various stages but all above soil. once i figure out how move pictures from a camera to a computer ill put some pic up. thanks in advance for your help...
it seems complicated buy its not.
Im a new grower and I over-watered as well.
There are 3 things you can do to MAKE SURE you don't over water.
1. Buy a moisture meter 10$ from my hydro shop im sure its around the same everywhere else. Stick it in the soil if it reads red.. its time to water. But take multiple tests on dif parts of the pot to get an accurate reading.
2. If you stick your finger in the soil 2-3 inches and its even MOIST then you need to wait.
3. Get an idea for what your plants feel like RIGHT after a watering, then wait a week and get an idea for what they feel like right BEFORE a watering, theres like a 10 pound difference...lol.. seriously its night and day.. im to the point where I can tell just by picking up the pots when they need water.
ps: Remember UNDER-watered plants show almost the same signs as OVER-watered plants... and not watering enough is alot better then overwatering. You can always add water.

As far as feeding goes... I suggest you start with foxfarm as they have a very easy to read feeding schedule.
Just cut EVERYTHING it says directly in half
If it says use 1 table spoon, you use 1.5 TEAspoons. thats half a Tblspoon.
From now on, on my future grows I will not feed ANYTHING until after 2 - 3 weeks. Because foxfarm soil has alot.. ALOT of nutes in it that should last about a month.
Pretty simple stuff.. but really you just need to learn the strain your growing because every strain is different. Some strains can take full strength some can only take 1/4th.. ect ect.
