I guess I started late, age 19 but that was 40 years ago, so it's been a hell-of-a-ride since. I lived in Houston, Texas in the late 70's and experienced the columbian's, the jamacan, mexican, thai weed & sticks and the hashes, red lebonese, black afgani and temple balls and fingers. It was a royal banquet that I thoroughly enjoyed. Yes, I have bad habits that are older than most of you and I enjoy everyone of them.
Old stoners never die.....they just go up in smoke.

I dabbled with smoke Early 90's. My uncle use to give me shotties and he always said "Inhale from your nose and hold that shit in till you can't" . I remember this one time he took me out with him Right after my birthday. He 50 Buck's from my birthday money on him and his girl blowing trees. But after that, I always wanted to stay at his house. so every weekend i did just that. that was my beginning

wow, thanks for all the replies guys! i wish i would of put a poll up and added "and how long have you been growing?" to my thread but oh well. lol
I'm slowly working my way down the thread +repping you all but i keep running out(used all reps from the last 3 days on it to be precise). lol
I first grew bud when i was 16-17 a few times with a friend(i know, dont trust no one and all that but we were both new to it and he never fucked me over anyway), we ended up w/like 1 oz dry each of us first time and like 3oz 2nd, then we had to tear it down and get rid of it all about 25% into 3rd grow.(his moms boyfriend moved in with them, she didnt care at all but he made us stop and that. I restarted growing about 3 yrs ago.

I'm 36, been smoking since it was called a "doobie". Only been growing (perpetual) for six months though.

when i was about 10 I found this big bag of pot down at the public boat ramp, had no idea what it was (i smelled it and the smell made me think of sunflowers though, lol) and showed my dad what i had found. he just threw it into the river and said it was nothing, but later that day i overheard him telling my mom about it and only then did i realize what i had found. it was a very full ziplock bag of high quality bud.(according to what my dad told my mom that i overheard).

i remember the first time seeing weed.. my dad was divorced and re-married, and his new wifes daughter (my stepsister in easier terms lol) like to party. mostly alcohol, but then she got into weed. I remember one time me, her, and one of her friends sitting in the basement, and her friend pulls out this sack of leafy stuff. I was 14, and never smoked, and didnt really plan on it either. I did however ask for a smell, and it was like nothing id smelled before. no, not chronic wise, but just the first whiff was kinda.. idk, curious i guess lol.

bout a year later i toked for the first time with some buddies around a fire at my house:bigjoint:

aloha all. smoked my first joint,June 1966 at age 17. still toking after all these years.
my BGF and i took a trip from Hawai'i to Oakland in 1969. took 10 Thai sticks( friend was sending them to me while he was in Viet Nam.) 1/2 oz. of some kick ass stuff called "Elephant", kid you not, shit kicked just like one. also took a 1/2 oz. of Kona Gold. drove from Oakland to L.A. met up with some crazy ass Piutes from Mamonth. Dudes got so wasted. Everyone there got shit-faced,except my friend and myself. begging me to sell them some stash, shit, noway. then i would have to buy their stale Mexican dirt.
