How reputable is Jorge Cervantes?????

At least now its not as lopsided as this thread was before. Its always good to get everyones perspective.

Is there anyone who has grown for 5-10+ years and still goes off Jorge or read his books or watch his DVD's/ Is Pro-Jorge? It seems as if the people who like him are those who are new into cultivating this plant whereas "experts" find more or less everything about him repulsive. lol

I'd like to see one or more of the Jorge critics write their own bible. If it is indeed a better book than Jorge's offerings, I'll be happy to buy one of the first copies.

I have never seen Cervantes give out bad advice. The message boards are a different story.

hahahhahahahahahahhahaha

this forum has 1500 active members online at any given time. of course you're going to have mixed opinions. and that's all they are. :eyesmoke:

i'm NOT trying to get your money. i have enough. keep it and read all those threads instead. bongsmilie :blsmoke:
Been doing that since day one, brother. Got nothing but respect for you, I just happen to prefer holding a book in my hand over reading on a computer screen.

Very good point:clap:

His books are ok as a basic guide but there is better on the market, as the saying goes, ''just because you can sing doesn,t make you Elton John.

whatever, send him all your money. he will gladly take it.

guess we all have heroes.

:peace:
Now there you go again! Why the hell would I want to send Jorge Cervantes "all my money" ???
Especialy when I can do this, (SEE PIX), on my own?????

Van Patten has been growing Cannabis constantly for over 30 years, most people here can't say that. His credibility is top-notch, or else he probably wouldn't be answering grow questions for High Times magazine. This thread is quite old but I believe the title asks how reputable is Jorge Cervantes... not whether like you him or not. His biggest book was not originally called "The Bible", it was dubbed "The Bible" by other growers. He has his own strain Jorge's Diamond #1, released by Dutch Passion. So far, I have not seen any bad information that he has written or told anyone but his books are OBVIOUSLY directed at beginners.. if you are new to growing you should probably read his book, or an Ed Rosenthal book (which will repeat the same crap again), after a year, or a few grows you will drop these "How to grow" books and your reading will consist of (if any) specialized books like The Total Synthesis of Cannabinoids, or even books about light frequencies or breeding and potency factors. A lot of information is out there now, Jorge still brought Cannabis growing how-to to the mainstream though... so give credit where it is due. The information he publishes is lacking in my opinion but it's not wrong.
I don't see why so much hatred exists for the man, he's very polite and at least he's making more people think about growing in general. I appreciate the guy and respect what he's done. He may have contradicted himself somewhere, I have not read all of his stuf but I did read the re-issue of his book a little back in the day (guilty.) I don't think he's the shit or anything like that but he is certainly reputable.
