How suspicious would it look on my electric bill if I was using 300 pounds a month but I was paying for it ?

Depends on a few factors. Large house? Garage? I know where I live, (Canada) as long as you pay on time it's no questions asked. There are many different reasons for a higher power consumption such as Home pc's, Mig welders etc, etc. Don't steal it though, that's a sure way to get caught.

The only time your light bill would attract notice is if you were using far more than a house could use. I have a buddy that owns a 2 BR ranch house and runs 5600 watts and has for years with no problem. The trick is to use it consistently. Dont take long breaks in betwwen grows. Its peaks and vallys that will attract attention more than heavy usage.
How long have you been in your house? The power companies have records of your power usage over a period of time and usually have detailed reports of average kw/h used. A sudden spike in power consumption could be a red flag. As long as you keep it reasonable and aren't trying to to grow commercially you should be fine.

As long as you pay it, well at least where i live(California), you dont get hassled.
Try to space it out though, instead of running 4 1000 watt lights at the same time split em apart.
Honestly though, just pay it, dont be a suspicious neighbor, keep your house clean, grass cut, and go bonkers

He is in england though they actually fly helicopters around to find growers in england ,kicking doors in full drug squad in riot gear to take care of 1 wee guy and 5 plants..it's shit in england...so god knows what other lenghts they are going to to catch people.

Depends on more I think, if you have 2 neighbors on either side that have a 300 'pound' bill per month, and you suddenly in Springtime, not Summer or Winter, spike up to double that, and they don't, you're going to raise a couple eyebrows.
But if it's Winter or Summer, it would raise less attention, as there is no telling how much someone cools or heats their house.

They still do that here, they just need to get a piece of paper with a judges name on it first
Over there though they have no rules over what they can do really, since its completely illegal ill give you that.
They fly helicopters over known grows over here to keep an eye on em.
They wont bust a guy for 5 plants though as long as hes got his med card.
LEOs over here usually look for 100+

Thanks for all your opinions I think I kinda of no how ill play it now so cheers and I would just say everyone has there own stories of how different ppl do it and get away with it so I suppose a lot is down to just luck

So if I was doing four 600's normally and cut down to two on a light mover your saying it'll be the same

it will eliminate 1200 watts so it will cut the power usage down. its a beautiful thing. If you wanto get really funky, you can use one ballast but split room into two and put in a switch over so you just run one ballast 24/7 and it will divided between two lights for 12/12, one room will be on and the other off and then they flip back and forth. same yield of 2 lights for the price of one. still using the light movers though.
