Let me get this straight.

you're just trying to steal an old Street Light bulb?

Most older street lights are 250w max, depending on the City standards some newer ones are put in at 400w.

Doesn't seem worth it unless your finances are in the toilet and you're extremely desperate, a used bulb for thats probably not even worth 20$

go to lowes or homedepo and buy a HPS yard light and rework it .
You wont get in trouble or get hurt

you dont need to go anywhere to get a ballast. there needs to be one in the light for the light to work on the street in the 1st place. the ballast is in the housing. and if you get the light and it turns off when you get it rigged up at your house, cover the little low light sensor with some duck tape or something (circled in red). the picture is of a hps light housing which contains something similar to the street light youve been tricking on. and im a skater so i can relate! just make sure no wires are connected before you get in there with your pliers. haha. :mrgreen:

Yes behind the bulb is a reflector and usually behind the reflector you'll find the ballast. If not behind the reflector than really close to it somewhere in the head of the lamp. It won't be in the base of the pole.

You'll need all the parts of the ballast including transformer, cap, ignitor, and there are probably fuses and maybe a thermal breaker.

When you're done stealing all this stuff you'll also need to find out what voltage it needs. Probably 220 or 277 volts. Cut the cord off your moms clothes dryer. You'll need some thick nippers for this, then hotwire the ballast properly onto the cord you just aquired and gut moms dryer to make a stealth grow cabinet.

Put a lock on the dryer now and next time mom asks wtf say:
"Shut up bitch, it's mine now, leave it alone." and then say "Get your fat ass in the kitchen and make me a pie"

Got a better one grease the pole up and wait in the bush until someone comes along on a skateboard or bmx and trys doing a grind down it, and when the fall off and knock them selfs out rob them blind then go buy the proper equiptment needed

Steal that beast. Ballasts are scandalously priced and it would be a shame to let it go to waste. And It's alright stealing from the government, they steal enough from us every year. Fuck the MAN! Just don't electrocute yourself.

yea dude go jack that shit, thats what im gonna do. fuck the government let them pay for a new one. you needing a light is a lot more important then the government having to pay for it. there has been a badass one i want but i gotta find out how to get to it lol.
